I think he was pissed that Leachy was given the honour of opening the batting!

Crazy review from Stokes & Root.

we are struggling here & the ball doesn't seem to be doing that much.

Such an important session this after lunch. This will decide the test match in my opinion. Looks like Root and Buttler are trying to get their teeth in and take the game away from SL. Excellent, positive approach from England.

Were you the one outside a nightclub in Bristol ? wink

He is no number three, we already knew that.

His fielding on the other hand in SL first innings was exceptional.

England producing 4.5 runs per over, is this an ODI?

Six wickets, six ste sweeps.

Apart from two good moments in the field, Stokes fails to impress again.

Root and Foakes need to play well.

What number is he? 12?

With 6 centuries and an average of 33 in tests, I'd say he was at best a 6 or a 7. Trouble is, we have lots of batting at 6/7/8/9

Leach and Curran both look good, Ali and Rashid can both bat too, - so where to put him. He is a bit of the talisman of this team, a galvanising force. But his strike rate is too high 59 balls per wicket, and too often he chucks his wicket away. But others have this issue too.

300 should be enough on this pitch, provided we bowl fairly tight.

Precisely. Personally, next game I'd be dropping Stokes and bringing Bairstow back in.

Looks like we will have a lead 275-300 here. Should be able to defend that. Loved the positive intent shown by England especially in the second session.

Early days but Foakes looks the part as a high quality keeper and a more than decent lower middle order batsman.

Chris Taylor: "Isn't it time Jimmy A was given a shot at 3, he has like a billion not outs. Give the BurnleyLara a chance.." One of the great unfulfilled talents

Probably a better keeper and not as good a batsman. But apart from that, yes.

It might also prevent him running out of partners before he's got his century yes
