found a great colourized film of sam langford versus bill lang... it's amazing to me how different it looks from the black and white version i'm used to...

beer great to see him in colour, really brings him to life... i've always really wanted a langford signature but they are like rocking horse st... one was nicked at a lelands a decade ago for $900 but now it seems even vintage original photos are commanding similar money.. my estimation now would be up there with stanley ketchel or harry greb at $3-4000 minimum....

i'd never get that past the missus i can guarantee you laugh

edited to add... seems things have moved on since i last looked a couple of years ago... greb signed photo now $6000.... a very tatty, scruffy postcard simply signed "stanley" is $3500.... so you can bet a proper signature would also run you at around $6000....

the guy that paid $900 11 years ago for a langford will be rubbing his hands because it will be worth every penny of $5-6000

I keep meaning to treat myself to a Johnny Owen signature. Did see one a few years ago for a few hundred quid it probably won’t appriciate in value like Greb, or Langford but that’s not why I want it anyway. He died before I was born but always had a soft spot for him after reading the big if and going to his statue in Merthyr.

you'd be hard pressed to find his signature nowadays pal... i certainly have never got a grip of one....

while we're on the welsh theme... quite proud of these 2 ....

met joe calzaghe a few times.. amazingly he looks younger here (couple of years ago) than when i met him back in 2006.... then it was a few months after the jeff lacey fight and i think it's pretty much widespread knowledge he went a bit crackers after that fight with the partying and cocaine use...

i met him on a book signing about 20 years ago... what a lovely bloke... really glad i got my photo taken with him...... i have a programme from his fight with joe bugner in 1971 signed by both of them which is pretty cool too.

i remember running round town trying to get hold of a disposable camera for that one.... quick snaps on a mobile phone were things of the future..i had a pager at the timelaugh

i frantically wound it round and grabbed a girl who worked there to take the photo.... really glad i made the effort... can't believe he's been gone a decade already..

I met Tommy Farr a couple of times. A gentleman. My old man used to look after his central heating. He had real presence into old age and I remember his fists looked terrifying even then.

You have an interesting hobby Tusc.

Not many deserve to be called legends but Wilde is right up there. A name that gives fans the shivers to this day like Marciano, Dempsey or Duran.

eek wow!... that's pretty ace you actually got to meet him mate....an old relative of mine who's long dead now used to tell me about the time he delivered training equipment to Tommy's dance partner when he fought for the world title in joe louis.... joe was up here for a time during ww2.... god, to have had just 5 minutes in the company of louis, ali, marciano, liston, dempsey.... my god, any of them!!!!...

jimmy wilde is head and shoulders the best fighter this nation has ever produced in my humble opinion...

yeah, it's an interesting "habit".. a rather expensive one toolaugh ... i've slowed down a bit over the last few years as all the signatures i really want are getting into silly money territory....

You could tell that fight was only going one way after about round 3.

I was expecting Kelly to clearly win rounds 1-5, Avanesyan to win 7-12 just as clearly with Kelly getting a points win that was a disgusting decision that everyone quickly forgot about.
