Just for the record, I was going to post this morning that I thought we might have reached and passed "peak Stokes". His fielding has been sloppy at times, his batting a bit hit and miss and his bowling def "meh". Then he does this. With all respect to Roy and Bairstow, this 99 was the difference.

Bairstow was only making 10 - 15 per over the other end

I think in the post match presser Bairstow said, It was just a case of giving him the strike..

I hadn't really considered this before, but one problem playing in the middle order is that you are often called into play very soon if there has been an opening order collapse (like we saw in the Test series) and basically tasked with shoring up the innings, often against fired up bowlers and frequently with a very new ball. I've lost count of the number of times that Stokes or Buttler have been cast in this role in the last few years in various formats, it must be very hard to play your natural game under this sort of pressure.

I think Kevin Pietersen had the same issue.

Anybody know where there might be online highlights of the second ODI? Fed up looking at shonky Indian YT sites pretending to have them but they turn out to be highlights of a totally different game, a bunch of still images or a computer simulation.
