Can someone explain how ,to me, in the last challenge for LBW the ball was hitting the off stump yet was given not out
Are the VAR black dark arts involved?
More than 50 percent of the ball must be hitting the stumps to affect empire decision anything less is Umpire decision and ofc missing change any decision to not out.

Game needs a couple of wickets. For neutrals.

This anticlimactic final sums up this whole tournament for me. Quite the contrast to 2019.

Oh yes 2019.
Great final.
Extra time, penalty shoot-out, super over, all rolled into one.
We were spoilt.

Well I didn't think it would be this straightforward, shame it wasn't closer but as is often the case with most sports, the preceding games are often closer and more exciting then the actual final.

Fair play to the Aussies they have walked this. Better in all departments on the day. India will be very disappointed with their performance never got close.

It’s a pity one of them had to win.

Well played Aussie, WC number 6. Quite an achievement.

The Aussies know how to win knock out games

And well, india don't. They had the stars but the Aussies just have that steel that you can't teach.

As a result, one of the finer details is that it helps if you get the umpire's decision on the pitch. If the umps gives out LBW and the batsman reviews it then the ball only needs to be clipping the stumps by a millimeter for the decision to be upheld.

Anyone else surprised that we haven't had any knee jerk retirements?

Bairstow will never retire. He will struggle on, corpulent and belligerent and dyspeptic and averaging 12, until the end of days.

Why would any of them be expected to retire right now? They've all just signed fat new central contracts to milk for the next three years.
