The **BOXING** thread Vol 2
Discussion
Not sure quite how or why, but I found myself looking at YT videos of Nigel Benn yesterday and I seemed to remember him being all over the place in one fight and then knocking the guy out in practically the last few secs of the last round (or a round - not many of Benn's fights went the distance) ... and for some reason I thought it was Iran Barkley so I went on a search and of course that was over in the FIRST round ... and WHAT a round. None of this feeling each other out nonsense in those days. We really were spoilt in this weight division. And one vid leads to another so then it was onto the epic first Benn v Eubank battle.
Culminated in him knocking out Anthony Logan - which I think is the fight I remembered ... still got to see the Doug de Witt fight ...
Anyway, as you were!

The Benn fight you are thinking about happened earlier in his career, around about his 19th fight or so and was for his Commonwealth Middleweight title. It was against Anthony Logan and was a brutal 2 round affair where Benn, having been knocked down in the first round was being battered into submission in the second when he found a shot from nowhere to take Logan out.Culminated in him knocking out Anthony Logan - which I think is the fight I remembered ... still got to see the Doug de Witt fight ...

Benn was literally seconds from defeat and was being pulverised. What a fight! A kind of short forerunner to the McClellan fight.

When I said culminating, I meant my YT-watching session, not Benn's career ... !
