I suppose all the criticism he gets from discussion forums doesn't help. We don't think about the cumulative effect it can all have on the person when it's available for him to read.

For the sake of clarity, I include myself in that observation.

As above, I wish him well and hope he can feel able to make himself available again in the future..

A few years ago I was speaking to a former professional footballer and now a manager who said he never goes near social media of any kind because it's just plain toxic. He said it's a very dangerous place to go if you are a professional sportsperson. More so if a footballer I'd imagine as the supporters in the main aren't the sharpest tools.

I hope Owen sorts hims of out and returns to the game.

Anyone who has found themselves with a high social media profile will tell you that you will encounter some of the most vile individuals. There really is no middle ground. You either have to accept it and try and live with it or actively manage it by blocking them and using other devices. Very few people can shrug it off, not least because some of the comments will be outright lies and trigger more vitriol or be directly or indirectly threatening towards you or your family.

If OF has spent any time reading the comments he's bound to have been upset by many of them. My advice would be not to read or engage yourself but find someone to mange that aspect of your life for you. It sounds like some damage has already been done so I hope he can get things back together. Forums aren't really an issue, it's those formats where people can directly engage, such as Facebook and Instagram.

Much the same situation for Tom Foley

As a neutral, it's a great game.

There's been a few this weekend.

As your resident Kiwi I didn't want to make any comments, but Chiefs game, Bears and Leinster were all great games.

Well deserved win for Quins.

Kit man to Castore: Yeah, first kit is banging. We have no money for our second kit, what can you do?

Castore: Well, we've got this...

Kit man: yeah, that'll do.

Some good games this weekend. English clubs did better than expected. I'd expect Saracens to be the only English club that can go go deep into the tournament, teams struggle going to SA in the URC and the Highveld add an extra challenge.
