They are very lovely. And the grips feel fanatstic! I used to have 3 wraps of tape under my grips. This time I've gone for Tour Velvet Mid Size, and they just feel perfect.

I was a bit apprehensive going from a stock Ping CFS stiff shaft (110g I believe) into a KBS X-Stiff 130g but they felt great on the range earlier and I didn't even think about the shaft after hitting a few. I'm hoping my dispersion will be tighter now, as my club face should in theory be more stable!

They're that pretty I'm willing to overlook the chunks of metal missing out of the back wink

To your shaft point I think that's a sign that they've been well fitted. I've always had S400's in my irons as long as I can remember, so ever so lightly heavier (132g) but more like an S+ in KBS, but I really do struggle with anything lighter. As you say the club is more stable on the way through, but the extra weight helps me slow things down at the top of the swing as well. Anything lighter and I tend to start hooking the ball, which is no fun.

Enjoy the sticks tho sir, they look stunning.
Cheers Bodhi, they look even better in the flesh!

Funny you should mention the hooks as that has become my bad shot over the last 18 months or so. Hopefully these should help!

The shafts are $-Taper's. They look great as well, the steps are so slight that with a quick glance you'd think they were rifle shafts.

So you are 55 yards out... what club do you hit? Soft 52* or a hard punchy putter?
My choice would be a nice smooth half swing with a slightly open 54 degree wedge, one bounce and stop cool

Sounds like a great guy and a decent advert for golf!

Glad you finally had a really enjoyable experience on the course.

Just wondering, is anyone else having a mental block on short putts with the pin in? Played in a comp yesterday, and missed 3 or 4 little tiddlers (as in 2 foot or less), as I couldn't convince myself to push the putter through properly without hitting the pin.
Not so much on the short putts, definitely don't like it on those mid range (6-12 foot) putts. Really struggling with pace since lockdown has finished, very inconsistent.

New irons were good on Saturday!

Hit some lovely shots, memorable ones included a 6 iron to the par 3 5th, a 4 iron tee shot on 11 and the pick of a the bunch was a 210 yard 4 iron to 12 feet on the 15th after a wayward tee shot saw me on the fringe of the 18th green (with a foursome watching me for good measure!). Also hit a nice 6 iron to 6 feet on the 18th only to miss the putt.

Driver was inconsistent and I literally didn't make a putt. Limped home with 29 points.

Playing 18 holes at 4pm.

Golf should be good this weekend - 48 of the world top 50 playing. Better than the last 8 Masters apparently!

Didn’t play very well last night. Scrambled 30 points.

Was 2 points behind playing partner on the 18th tee and managed to hit a lovely drive followed by a lovely 6 iron to about 20 feet. Sunk the putt for a birdie and beat him by 2 points! Haha, brilliant!

Steady 33 points for me yesterday in pretty windy conditions. Starting to feel more comfortable with the new irons!

The ST200 was great!

Ended up going with the ST200G head, with an extra stiff 70g Tensei White shaft and a midsize grip.

Club head speed was averaging around 105mph, ball speed around 153mph. Carrying an average of around 240 with total distance of around 280.

Had a lovely muted sound to it, and even when I hit a few right out of the toe it still carried 220+ and managed to hold the shot shape.

I picked up my new driver on Saturday! It's a lovely thing, will post some pics later.

Considering my bad shot was a hooky low left, I've not had any do that (18 holes plus an hour on the range on Monday night) and when I get it in the middle boy does it go with a lovely piercing trajectory!

I'm after a new driver being as I've somehow bashed / dented / cracked my G25.

I don't play regularly or well enough to spend 2-300 on a driver.

It looks like the g25 was launched in 2013.

So from the last few years are there any drivers that are recognised as being particularly forgiving / easy to hit?
I have a 2015 Ping G30 that's up for sale! Stiff shaft, blue MCC4 grip. I've had it since new, lovely club. In good condition. Let me know if interested?

The Orka clubs look lovely!

Extremely weak (traditional) lofts - not quite sure how you can gain distance by having 5 degrees more loft but there you go!
As above pretty low spinning for a 7 iron, which again is slightly odd considering the loft.

When do you get them? Enjoy!

Ye one thing I was skeptical about was when he said even though you're losing a club effectively you will still be hitting it as far...

I'd consider myself a decent ball striker anyway, but with the extra loft it just gives me more confidence stood over the ball.

The build can currently take up to 3 weeks, I've not actually ordered them yet as was waiting on selling mine but they sold yesterday so will be dropping him an email today.
Three weeks without golf!?!

Well, the new driver is a revelation it has to be said.

I’m hitting fairways for fun with it, and the bad shot I had with the old driver (low left and hooky) has literally disappeared - I haven’t hit a single drive left in 4 rounds of golf since picking it up.

I’m starting to get my touch with the wedges around the green as well, very happy with those.

The irons are proving slightly harder to gel with, but I’m sure it will come. I’m hitting the odd peach but for some reason seem to be hitting them thin quite a lot. But when I catch them they feel great! It’ll come.

32 points tonight with 2 blobs.
