It promised so much but we get the same old Scotland. They'll play better (hardly worse) against England and that'll be it. They looked OK in the first half, although the two tries were evidenced criticism.

Mind you, Wales don't seem to be firing on all cylinders.

They should have had the 4th try ages ago.

Not a great game.

Have to say Wales did overall play very well and they took away a bonus point (even if it shouldn’t have been given)

Very disappointed in Scotland - I expected much more from them

Decent start to the 6 nations though from a watching perspective

Looking forward to France v Ireland next

Halfpenny was MOTM for me in that game - he was brilliant.

Wales deserved the 4th try, if only because the one the TMO ruled out was almost certainly over and grounded. Between the three or four attempts - I felt it was earned, even if that's not how these things work.

I'm a little nervous now... Wales were looking ok and tend to get sharper. Scotland will play better against England (probably)... Could that bonus point be decisive in the final reckoning?

Will be interesting to see how Ireland play and I'd love to roll out the usual "see which France turn up today" but I'm just going to rule them out. Ireland will be too clinical for an inexperienced team, especially MrJail Bait.

As an Englishman who thought we'd have a hard enough time as it is... this could be interesting. If we don't obliterate Italy with the strength of the team we're putting out tomorrow; we're in for a hard tournament!

A bonus point is a bonus point I don’t care how we got it. They even looked at it the stupid French.

Kind of cancels out the wrong call on the grounding doesn’t it.

Indeed we deserved a 4th try one way or the other.

See if the Irish can win now.

Good point folks - I’d forgotten about the one ruled out because the wrong question was asked.

You’re right - overall Wales deserved the bonus point

Disappointed with Scotland. The team that played so well in the Autumn internationals made me think they could be 6 nations contenders and a real problem this year.

Now they look like fighting Italy for bottom spot as usual. How did that go so wrong, so fast?

So a maths question.

The minimum number of points to win a grand slam is 23 up to a max of 27 assuming BP in every game.

What is the mathematical minimum table points needed to win the championship?

Is it just me or is BBC TV commentary very quiet?

It’s butler and ? Butler giving him normal quality but the other chap no emotion

As much as Jiffy is as biased as you can possibly be he is entertaining.
I remember one Eng v Wales game (the one where Wales humped England at home 30+ points to 3). The studio camera showed them all commentating and he was just beaming - they also showed a clip of when Wales were scoring tires against England and jiffy was jumping up and down screaming superb a full on no questions asked Welsh supporter + beating England means everything no matter what anyone says

Agreed, 100%

I have no idea how it was decided otherwise.

Wondered that too. I had gone outside (clouldn't stay still) and was watching though the window, so didn't hear what TMO was being asked.

My only thought was an earlier forward pass, but that wan't shown.

The down-side of the Ireland-France game is that Brian Moore is part of the commentary team - he adds virtually nothing and simply serves to wind me up each time he speaks.
