The **BOXING** thread (Vol 3)
Discussion
I personally don't like cheaper tickets, as the event is so far from you you end up just watching on the big screens.
Rather go once in a blue moon and pay as much as possible for a ticket than squint, but that's just me. Especially boxing where if you are not close up you won't see the details.
Having said that As the saying goes, it's not where you are but who your with. So if you have the right people around you atmosphere could be worth the visit.

Fury looks good to go.

Interview of Wilder on BBC site too, he sounds mentally in the right place as well.
Could be a great night

Read a few articles saying Andre Ward could possibly come out of retirement...Usyk and Callum Smith are possible opponents.
Can't see it myself - there is no big name fighter out there for him to fight. Usyk is after the heavyweights now and would not be interested. Frankie Gavin fought again last night and must be one of the most unprofessional boxers out there, missed the welterweight limit by 5.5lbs and was stopped in the 4th round by Spain’s Lejjarga who stopped Bradley Skeete earlier in the year.
What an incredible waste of talent, from world amateur champion to missing weight for the Olympics and then missing weight numerous times as a pro even at weight classes at least one above his natural weight class.

He says he doesn’t want to fight Tyson Fury for a year or so. He wants to go around making money. I think that’s going to be a downfall for him. He has to stay with it; he can’t be in the background.

Let's hope that after their respective fights that we get to see Joshua vs Wilder/Fury.

I watched this a few weeks ago on ESPN or BT Sport, really enjoyed it, although it's ultimately a pretty sad story...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dclkp6DXmCM

Anyone read the news about Naseem Hamed?
There was some boxing ceromony where he was getting an award. Anton Du Beck (or something spelt similar) was hosting and made a joke about his weight Hamed didn't take it well

I found this very interesting, a decent in depth look at technically how the fight could pan out

Personally I think it's Wilder with a KO inside 5 once he has realised he can walk Fury down and catch him on the ropes.
However the point about a tall counter punching southpaw is very interesting. Can't wait for the fight.
