Well you have the benefit of hindsight you (who has not won 14 majors) idiot!

Steady on ??
TW has the benefit of seeing several of his drives go high and right in this round. To put his faith in it when the one place he CAN’T go is right just seems mental.
When he was winning majors he’d have never made that error.
Has anybody played Woodbury Park near Exeter? Got an invite to play there next month. The website doesn't particularly excite me – it looks like your typical 'wedding venue with a golf course attached' – and the reviews of the hotel are poor. The reviewers that aren't moaning about the hotel do seem to rate the golf course but at £50 for a solo round or £90 for a two-ball it's not exactly cheap.

Woods' first 9 was unreal. Not one fairway hit.
If he starts finding fairways with his driver then I think he might ruffle a few feathers. His recovery shots in his last round were incredible.Blackpuddin said:

Mark Crossfield has done a YouTube playing vlog there. Might give you a better idea of what it’s like. HaplessBoyLard said:

Technically, I'm nowhere near good enough to polish them, let alone play with them, but I plan to take them out on my own for a good few rounds while keeping the Ping G10s for actual play. Scared, but also strangely excited.
So wee update on this golf journey after my first sub-100 a few weeks ago
Followed up with:
108 - 30c, Net 78 = 0.1 increase
101 - 30c, Net 71 = Buffer
Last nights Tuesday medal
97 - 30c, Net 67 = 1.5 decrease.
Been having some recent horrendous back 9's in terms of iron strikes.
Tee shots (usually driver) have been straight up the middle leaving me with relatively good approach shots from the fairway.
I go through my routine setup, then easy back, controlled downswing etc.
Front 9 I'm making good contact, getting the ball in the air and making reasonable enough distance.
By the time the back 9 comes round I find myself making bad contact - topping the ball 50 yards along the fairway - and in a couple of instances, taking large divots out the ground before the ball.
Realise without swing analysis its difficult to comment but what are the obvious things that I should consider as a novice player?
Part of me is saying, fatigue could be coming into play.
For Tuesday medals I go straight from work so I don't get fed until closer to 830pm - do the effects of hunger over and above a day of work become a contributor?
Bad iron contact cost me at least 5 shots yesterday so any tips / thoughts / drills from the more experienced players would be greatly appreciated!

Usually take a bottle of water and a bottle of Coke Zero with me.
In the bag I always have a few Tracker bars.
What's everyone's snack of choice for a quick burst of sugar / energy?
My home course is park land and on 2 sides of a hill - there are 5 uphill hikes, toughest to easiest being 2nd, 15th, 8th, 11th, 3rd.
The first 3 you are breathing out your ar5e as you set up for fairway shots so I'm considering retiring the push trolley in favour of an electric but also trying to do the man maths of spending half a grand on a trolley with a motor vs a fitted set of irons.
Former will make life a little easier going round the course, the latter may or may not make a difference given my inability to strike consistently.

Coming over seventeen at the weekend I had our club competition in the bag pretty much. I then proceeded to double bogey 17 and and a massive 14 on the last. Can't remember the last time I've done something that stupid
Wasn't that frustrated really, more so pleased with how I'd played for the first 16 holes

I've been going through this hell also. Saw a very useful tip online about 'throwing' the clubhead at the back of the ball (on a downward trajectory of course), helped me to dig in. Dad was proud of his lawn and he's passed that on to me! Followed up with:

Could it be that you are "too cocky/complacent" - not in terms of acting it, but in your mind? You said "horrendous back 9's" which would suggest good front 9's where the shots you hit were good, yet the same shots on the back 9 were poor. In your mind you have already hit a good shot (as you did on the front 9) but in reality it does not happen, as you think its too easy? Not sure if that came across right.Tee shots (usually driver) have been straight up the middle leaving me with relatively good approach shots from the fairway.

The above may just be me. I know before I even tee-up that my first 9 will be bad - something about it that I seem to struggle with, yet the back 9 is good. When I have a good front 9 (which I over the moon with), I then go and cock up the back 9! Complacency/too cocky/over confident - thats what I put it down to and something I have to get to grips with in the 6 inches between my ears.
