“Hands down, Joshua [wins]. He is getting to be the complete fighter,” Klitschko said in an interview with the Times.
“Technically, size-wise, weight-wise, power-wise. And he is a good learner. The other guy [Fury], like a fart in the wind it is there and it is gone.
“In the history of boxing there are a lot of examples of this kind of guy. They can be successful for a time but are not disciplined enough to continue to be successful.

i remember when fury pulled out of the rematch for the second time and was then seen dancing with all the pissheads at the footy wlad said something similar.....i cant be bothered looking for the quote but it was along the lines of fury was the mountaineer who managed to get to the top once. klitschko referred to himself as everest. fury may have got to the top once but he was there year in year out defeating the climbers...
it was an unusually clumsy simile for wlad but his point was correct.....he had a bad night that night but he'd been top dog for a long time prior to that blip.he was calling it then that fury got lucky once. no disrespect to fury but there was no way he was going to win that rematch.and deep down he knew he wasn't going to win the lottery twice. after the first fight i was sat there nonplussed just processing what i had witnessed and my missus called it...she said there was no way that fury would rematch klitschko under any circumstances.she was right....and i still think he would rather dine out for the rest of his life on that one win than risk the humiliating defeat to wilder or joshua.....it's now been too long i think..if lucas browne can have him over 3 times down in hyde the other week what would joshua do to him at this stage?
and something else to ponder...given his failed drug test was from prior to the wladimir fight should he have even had the belts in the first place? makes you think..

completely off at a tangent.....
remember the tom sayers contract i wrote about a few years ago?...the fact that he was illiterate didn't seem to matter a jot in the item initially getting a PSA/DNA and JSA l.o.a......that was later rescinded...but not until some guy had parted with over 10 grand for it...
http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=1581...
now i have to say, heritage are generally superb but some of their recent content i have found i'm unsure of...a recent harry greb signature that turned up in a loft somewhere has been put back on the market and attracted no buyers even at close to $3300......make of that what you will.....
anyway, having a look this morning and i see 6 years on from the sayers contract debacle we now have a sayers signature and a mendoza (!!) signed letter up for sale with no pre certification supplied at all!!...
https://sports.ha.com/itm/circa-1860-tom-sayers-si...
https://sports.ha.com/itm/1828-dan-mendoza-handwri...
gonna take some pure balls of brass to part with A LOT of $$ for those 2 items.....

Was it? I didn't realise, just assumed the tests were between the first Wlad fight and before the rematch date. Then yes the media should have made more of this, and Ring shouldn't have allowed him to have their belt for so long. On a lighter note, these may also make you laugh.
Eddie was good entertainment on SoccerAM this week, doing impressions of Kell, Eubank Snr and AJ

AJ meanwhile is not cut out to be a rapper

Also nothing yet about whether or not Wilder have counter-offered despite Wilder's side saying it would be done by last Friday, although AJ was indicating they are all going to sit down face to face soon.

the fight should never have gone ahead given that the failed tests were from the feb/march BEFORE the first fight!...

Yeah, fair enough, he did lose to Barrera; but that was his single loss against a future hall of famer...so no shame in that really. You can also argue he was past his best at that stage anyway for one reason or another; be it the split with Ingle, starting to believe his own hype a little too much, losing his hunger, his 17th successive world title fight in a bit under 6 years...take your pick...
Seems he regained after he retired Mikey Garcia gives back his IBF Junior Welterweight belt, decided to go fight for his WBC lightweight belt.
WBC wouldn't let him keep both and made him choose one as he had kept it too long without defending.
He could take on the winner of Linares v Lomachenko now!

To be fair he looked a bit fleshy at light welter against Lipinets (I've got no room to criticize that's purely an observation) i imagine there is enough to keep him busy at lightweight and assuming Lomochenko comes up and stays at lightweight (and beats Linares) that is a genuine mega fight for fans and boxing lovers. Aha, can't beat a bit of insider knowledge ![wink](/inc/images/wink.gif)
Would certainly be a good confidence booster if he could pull that off, the bloke's due a bit of good luck I reckon.
i'd love it if he pulled it off you know.........if he'd have had a few more seconds in round 3 against povetkin he would now be mandatory for joshua and a few million £££
