well....the ultimate boxxer format worked well following the prizefighter plan....loads of good fights but drew brown won every fight well..he'll go on to be a successful pro for sure.

jacobs / sulecki was a good fight. that guy was no mug and it was great watching them both adjust continually throughout the fight. jarrell miller isn't gonna make any big waves at heavweight i don't think.

katie taylor was always one stop ahead there..2 belts now in only 9 fights!

remember me making a fuss about that khazak kid a few months ago?....made his pro debut on the undercard in brooklyn and looked fking sensational doing so....daniyar yeleussinov...remember the name. an absolute phenom as an amateur and already looking like a seasoned pro after one fight!

i haven't got through all of the magdelano card yet but so far bryant jennings v dawejko for the penn state heavyweight title was a very good fight..i hadn't realised they had fought before as amateurs.

hart looked great stopping nicholson...another nice addition to the mix at super middle there.

Hats off to Sulecki for getting up after that shot in the twelfth! Certainly a good win for Jacobs but unfortunately, with the current landscape in the Middleweight division, I can see him having to tread water for a little while longer before getting the big fight he’s really after.

I agree with your comments about Miller, though I think his mouth might just take him a step or two further than his talent alone can! Also, he was heavy in his last fight...then put on 30lbs for this one...and still went the full 12!!! yikes

The one other contest that caught my eye was the Bradley Skeete fight. Queensbury seemed to have pretty high hopes for him, so falling short against a virtually unheard of Spaniard at European level must have come a real kick in the teeth. The other aspect that I found interesting was that it was for the vacant title, but obviously the other fella’s promoter had won the bidding for the fight. It just seems to be further evidence that all is not well with the Warren-BT Sports arrangement...unless it’s reflective of them having just bet the entire farm on Tyson Fury and Carl Frampton...?

has warren ever really recovered from the horrible legal battle with calzaghe and the subsequent collapse of sports network?...that was 10 years ago now and he hasn't been anywhere near the force he was then since....boxnation has been doing an admirable job from a fans perspective but the ex setanta guy who got in bet with warren to form boxnation (i've heard) hasn't got the returns he was expecting apparently

Yeah not good. The tie-in with BT was supposed to provide the financial clout to go head-to-head with Matchroom/Sky. The announcement was something like 20 shows on BT sports in 2017 and another 10 exclusive to BoxNation...I think you can probably count the number of shows that actually transpired on the fingers of one hand. I’d be gutted if BoxNation were to be binned; while the UK output is has been disappointing, it’s providing coverage of all those international cards that would be the biggest loss...

yeah i know mate, and would sky have the broadcast slots to show the international stuff even if they wanted to pick them up?... i suspect not. i don't know the number of hardcore fans there are like us nerds but i suspect the viewing figures wouldn't make it a viable option.

Well, it looks the Warren/BT relationship continues...but it appears without the same ambitious (unrealistic?) projections of the initial announcement this time:

. . . and in other news, the York Hall event was absolutely brilliant!

Absolute fab venue (with the exception of no drinks outside the bar!) and a packed bill.

Our guy's programmed opponent pulled out at very late notice, so he took a fight with a very game opponent 7lbs heavier and still won a 4 round shut out!

Bradley Skeete isn't much of a ticket seller i hear which is why the fight probably got made over there and warren didn't bid big for it. Dale Evans who is the pro most local to me was offered the fight prior to skeete i believe (despite losing to skeete in his fight previous) turned it down luckily as his heart wasn't in the sport anymore. Spanish guy seems a talent with real power and a Hatton esque following from the Spaniards to boot.

So is anyone brave enough NOT to pay for Haye Bellew 2 ?

Don't you hate it when you get sucked into something you know will probably be a waste of sleep... And why does it usually involve David Haye?

well, if you've seen the obscene purses (same as last time only reversed in bellew's favour) surely you would feel duty bound to pay your 20 quid to keep these chaps in the manor to which they have become accustomed to? laugh

What are you on about?

I have heard it from many a horses mouth that they are 'providing for their families' and 'putting food on the table'.

These horses then post their latest supercar purchase or new gold bling on Instagram laugh

Great to see a fighter get to 50-0 without needing a glorified exhibition bout against someone making their professional boxing debut to do it!
