What a turnaround for Irish front-row resources from even 5 years ago. That bench is something else to have available

I really don't see what's so special about Sexton.
What do you think of his performance so far?

Number 10s control the team so always appear a bit good when a team's doing well. But Sexton does it all the time.

Ireland look decidedly ordinary when the're not allowed to get away with murder at the breakdown.

I think Ireland's tactics are good - easy to say with a 14-3 lead I suppose. They've had a couple of scares but have managed to control them.

It's an intriguing match. The win is open although my money's on Ireland by two scores, as they are now, so mot a massive leap of faith, but I don't think they are going to run away with it. Scotland have been doing a lot of work. Will it tell in the last quarter?

I'm thoroughly enjoying this.

Ireland seem to be ticking over this half. Nothing inspirational. Still engrossing.

The crowd want the fourth try.

And there it is, without much effort.

That's it I think for more than just this match.

Can't help feeling the same but may well make the next couple of games even more interesting and intense!

I was so hopeful that it would go down to the last weekend, after the first twenty minutes.

Thought: "Yes - same Scotland who beat England have turned up - you, know, the good one!"

Then........*sighs*

Scotland: failure to execute due to the extra pressure being applied by Ireland. Flattered to deceive.

Ireland: played to their consistently high level and intensity. So hard to beat.

Wayne Barnes: excellent match

It was'normal' Ireland play. That's not criticism of course. It's served them well mostly.

The try immediately after half time sort of killed it I think. Ireland had lots of time to go for the fourth try and they sort of waited for that. A strange decision to go for the penalty I thought.

I enjoyed the match.

Scotland really peaked last week; but to be fair to Ireland, they restricted them far more than England did.

Scotland blew chances against England, but were allowed more chances - today, those blown chances really mattered.

+1

Well played Ireland, I just hope that England get the bonus point in France to make next weekend more interesting.

Ireland did exactly what they needed to do. Now all the pressure is on England.

Itoje's buzzing at the lineout. If he can only stop giving away penalties.

England look dull and predictable in attack. They draw lovely patterns and don't really go anywhere.

Interesting stat in The Times yesterday. Seems that England have the worst ruck stats in the tournament. I wonder if that's anything to do with repeatedly playing a blindside at openside and a second row at blindside despite all evidence showing that playing people in their proper position in the back row tends to pay dividends
