Quite bizarre that umpires can choose to review runouts that are close but not other decisions they are unsure about.
At that point you may as well not have anyone in the middle since they would pretty much review everything.

NZ are fked here. Pretty poor batting display. Lots of starts, inability to go on with it and total inability to play the slower ball or the short ball.

They don't deserve to win batting like this.
England have bowled extremely well. Archer has been all over them. Plunks took wickets and Woakes was miserly.

As I type Archer castles another

242 to win. Doable. But I am unsure how I feel about it given how the pitch is playing.
It’s going to move, always does at Lords at least of the pitch. Not sure it’s swinging much, but it may do with new balls.

Boult is a good bowler, not sure the rest are all that.

As always with England you just never know !

HEh.

Well, that just makes a joke of the game.
Just part of the game. Roy got a SHOCKING decision in his last dig, so y’know.

Just some steady strike rotation is called for. We are in the lead here. Only 200 more needed and 9 wickets left.

There is plenty of time, and as ever if Root bats the next 25-30 overs we will win.

Very uncharacteristic of Root, losing patience.

Jeez you poms are panic merchants.

You're only 3 down.

You have Stokes, Morgan, Buttler yet to be dismissed. Woakes and Plunkett can bat. Rashid can bat.

No way Eng will lose this.
Agreed John, safe as houses this. Bit of a setback but we have plenty of batting.

Cruise home from here

Great catch ! What a piece of skill.

This is the game right here, these two at the crease, last gasp for glory. Do or die

It's a good surface for the bowlers, but we're not even going for singles at all.
Buttler will change that

Buttler's been very poor this WC.
9 innings, 1 not out, 258 runs, 103 as a high score, strike rate 130. Average 32.

You call that very poor ?

Really ?

I don't call it match saving, and when the pressure's been on, what has he delivered?
I think its harsh, coming in at 6 mostly, made a ton and scores quickly. Ok he is below his normal std I will give you that, but very poor ?

Anyway, I am guessing you will quit whining if he brings it home from here.

No we will be fine. Forget the run rate, Jos can hit the runs in one over.

We just need to be no wickets lost and 18 balls to go.

Take it deep then smash

This is the brains trust who've decided now is the time to kill off 50 over cricket at county level so I doubt it.
Yes we finally win the 50 over format at a time when the ECB are basically no longer using it as the premier short form competition.

Utter, barking, madness !

Not true of all schools but could well be true of many. My son plays in his school cricket team and he also plays for a local village under 13s
Here in Surrey my son (10) has just played an inter schools qualifier tournament, followed by the County Championship. That’s at year 5, there is the same competition at every age group for every school in Surry that wants to play. I think there were 35 schools involved.

So it is still played at state schools. As ever it is down to the dedication of some teachers to make it happen.
