Great result. I’ll be honest and say that I didn’t see a GC win coming from Tao before this result. Maybe just not seen enough of him being able to hit out as a leader when he is usually stuck in the domestic role.
Though wasn’t he given freedom at last years Vuelta and didn’t do much. But might be confusing him with someone else.
Do you think it will be seen as a ‘lucky’ win with other big names missing from the event? I wonder what betting odds you would have got on Tao for GC win before the race started?
The season is suddenly looking a bit brighter for Ineos!

Gutted that we have started heading back to the office just as the Giro is on for my "background music".
Loving the GCN coverage, seems even higher quality this year. I was never into their 'banter' before the race coverage, although found Matt very funny. Both Dan Lloyd and him are great commentators / pundits. Saw Simon make a rare appearance on the after race show and discovered which of the trio put me off

The only real criticism is that Rob Hatch puts too much effort into over pronouncing everything with a faux local accent. I can't shake the image of a guy ordering Chorizo and Bruschetta with a comedy dialect impression.
This is probably my only issue with them !! TT's are almost unwatchable with the Gaaaannaaa comments every few minutes. It might be the right pronunciation, but super off-putting. Never noticed Italians putting on an Oxford accent to say my name either. I’ve not managed to watch any coverage yet
Really bloody annoyed that I’ve come into the office today to cover some gimp who couldn’t make it and the little fker has turned up!
Can’t really watch footage in the office. Well, I could, but it’s not really either the done thing or the same thing as in my own office set up at home.

Sprint stages with cloud and rain aren't the worst to miss to be honest!
Today is actually a very interesting stage, but you'll learn Giro actually often not too bad for the dull pan flat ones (yesterday was that I guess), but today, tomorrow looks pretty decent too actually, the first week often in the tour you can get clobbered with numerous flat yawnfests

Yeah the climbs in the final section could make it interesting today, then proper ones today & tomorrow.
Put the start on and grim weather plus lack of drama meant it wasnt restarted after an internet crash, Hoping they is still some racing to be done when my calls end this afternoon.
Going to be tough to beat the drama of last year, and 2019. Swiftly becoming my favourite grand tour...
