Massage guns

Do they actually work, and if so any recommendations?

I've been getting some calf trouble (still sore now after if started playing up running yesterday morning) as well as ongoing back issues, and wondering if a massage gun might be better than a foam roller. Lots of articles online seem to claim they work, but never sure who's sponsoring them. Anyone used one with good effect?

Theragun and Hypervolt 2 seem to be the main ones recommended online, but loads of cheap versions too. Presumably the more expensive ones come with more attachments, and sturdier build?
