Now the football is over the real business of transfer speculation can start. So who's in and who's moving on?

Spurs seem to have started the ball rolling with Garteth Bale having a medical at White Hart Lane.

Not really sure I favour big money moves for unproved young players with potential. It seems a safer bet buying a proven player in his mid 20's who are often cheaper.

Steve Sidwell and Gareth Bale, both players linked with Newcastle not so long ago banghead

I hope Allardyce has some suitable summer targets instead...

Interesting to see where Sidwell will fit into Jose's plans when Essien and Mikel are available.
Wouldn't imagine that Allardyce would be interest in an unproven teenager like Bale, not really his style. Now he has a large transfer budget it will be interesting to see what kind of players he goes after,

And I want to meet Kirsten Dunst but I think neither of us will get what we want.
I can't see any of the clubs in the Champions League wanting him. I'd love to know who he thinks is going to sign him.

Do West Ham fans actually want to keep him?

Looks like Nigel Reo-Coker is off to Villa. As a Spurs fan I'm chuffed as I think he's over rated and we have been frequently linked to him.

"West Ham United and Spurs are at the centre of a battle to sign Charlton's £17m-rated striker Darren Bent."

£17m for Bent! Surely that's way over the top.

Depends on the market. He's continously the best, (or nearly), performing English striker in the Premiership, and he'll only get better...
That's more a reflection on the current crop of English strikers. Considering last season Berbatov and Benni McCarthy cost around £10m each I don't see how Bent is worth £18m.

Bugger, looks like Spurs have stupidly over paid to get Bent. I hope we can recoup some cash by flogging defo.

I agree 16.5m seems a lot, but why should we have to sell Defoe its not as if we need the money.

I think it will be great to have 4 top strikers, keeping them all happy is going to be the biggest problem.
No, as ever the biggest problem is stopping other teams scoring loads against us. We needed a left winger and some decent/non-injury prone defenders.

I assume we have bought Bent because Jol doesn't like short strikers and isn't happy about having 2 shorties in Defo and Keane. There is no way we can keep 4 quality strikers happy so I home we can find someone equally stupid to pay an inflated price for Defo, £8millon+ and I'd be delighted.
