Cost was £230 per person return. That includes the car shuttle to / from the VIP drop off (which goes through closed roads & back routes).
cool, thanks for the info. Who did you book that with?

Well I went on Sunday (my first time) and I was blown away by it all. The sheer scale of the thing was amazing and everyone there was obviously enjoying it, especially the drivers. Such a great way to spend the day! While I have literally hundreds of photos from the day I wont bother posting most of them beacuse others have already posted far better quality of the same thing. However I do have something to share. I was parked in the VIP car park and was treated to this beauty. I know JK has just had his delivered so unless anyone can enlighten me I think it could well be his.

I know there was one in the Supercar area but for me seeing it in the car park made it seem more like a real 'spot'.
Does anyone know what the 16m refers to?

I saw it being driven by a woman whilst walking back to the car on Saturday (car park 4). I remember it as I thought the number plate looked out of place on a Ferrari (VX is something I would expect to see on a sporty Astra and FKS I would expect to see on a Focus).

Also the fact she nearly took us out as she swerved to the left to stop and speak to a marshal (out of the way), then changed her mind immediately, swerved back to the right again, and blocked traffic both in and out hehe

Not slating, it's just why it stuck in my mind and I remember who was driving wink

Could be JK's, I don't know, but I didn't see him anywhere near it. The car was there for at least 2 of the 3 days (don't remember seeing it on Friday), does this coincide with the days JK was there ?

Well I was guessing at the JK thing as I remember reading somewhere that he had just bought one. Yeah, it was parked next to a camper so its owner was obviously camping. It just stuck out in my mind as it was the very first car I saw when I arrived. A bit of a treat.

That's not so much a camper van as a motor home, I think the Fezzer was owned by one of the O/Ds at the event. I couldn't tell you which one, because I don't know rofl

Was my first FOS.

Went on the firday with my brother and nephew. Was properly cream crackered by the end of the day.. the 9 year old however was still ready to walk around the world twice!!

Knew it was big and busy but it properly blew me away. We didnt make it to the rally stage. A reason to go back next year. Loved the way you can get up close and personal with all of the preoper sexy machinery!

took hundreds of pics... won't bore you with all of them...

Started really well...

All reminds of the Comic Strip's Fist Full of Travellers Cheques...

"You want soft toilet roll... you go to Hotel Gaylord"

Nice tea tray!

The only one really trying going up the hill...

Desert Spec Scooby

Missed it crashing into the bales!

The Skater 'dudes' were properly impressive...

Short beardy bloke...

And the only three pics I took that I actually like....

Ref photo's I appreciate that everyone has payed to get up close and personal to the cars and drivers and actually I find no problem with there being people in my photo's who are looking in the engine bay or generally looking around the car.

What I found frustrating was people who push between you and the car you are literally about to take a picture of, then stand there chatting to their mates, family etc and actually paying no attention to the car.

When I see someone obviously taking a picture I'll happily wait a few seconds for them to push the shutter but sometimes they seem to want to take an eternity over it so I simply say "have you got your shot yet mate" to hurry them up, wait a few seconds and simply look at what I want to see.

The White Ferrari and motor home belong to JK, he had a Black Audi R8 parked one side and the ferrari the other, after the drivers show he was seen escorting 4 dancers back to his pad. Lucky B*std..lol

Well,

for me it was just a stunning time

I was lucky enough to win a charity auction to get access to the Dunhill club and a rally ride

(on that note - I was hoping I'd be lucky enough for a PH'er to have caught me in the car in action - I was with Guy Wilks in the new Impreza at about 1130, tried to do a thumbs up at every bank of photagraphers!)

For someone like me that doesnt normally get such a VIP experience it had me giggling like a schoolkid

Within 10 minutes of sitting down to breakfast in the Dunhill, I had Jenson on a table to my right and Stirling and Mrs Moss along with Mario Theissen on the other (I think my wife was worrying I was going to really embarass her but I managed to reign myself in!)

Jenson was an absolute star, very friendly, got a pic that in which unfortunately I appear to be gurning (d'oh!), Stirling I didnt bother at that time as he was eating Breakfast most the time (which annoyingly didnt seem to stop some gimps shoving an autograph book in his face mid mouthful - not on , IMHO)

Was anyone up on the Rally Stage when the Arrows were doing their display? at one point a single arrow came up over and it felt so low over our heads it was like going back to the good old (pre H & S Vulcan display) days

Rally ride was amazing, but after realising their was a "mini Dunhill" club at the top of the hill climb, the wife and I took up residence there.

That was a great spot, the way the wind went we got the full faceful of smoke from everyone that did a donut (go Lewis, go Timo!)

What was the deal with Chris E's F40 - I heard the clutch had kicked it, but left the top before the repair team got to it

A few pics -

Hi there,

Spent a full day at the FOS on Saturday, and as has been said by many of you what a fantastic day it was. biggrin

I had press accreditation for the weekend although to be honest it was a bit of a let down, there were something like 340 togs accredited and only 50 tabards. The tabards were given to people like Autosport, Autocar etc and us por minions were left with no tabard and a little badge. The badge allowed you access to three special 'press photographers' areas (although to be honest two of these were useless) so I spent most of the day huddled with around 20 other togs on a scaffolding platform about 10 foot in the air just by Molecombe corner.

Only real benefit of the badge was that it gave me access to the vehicle assembly area near the paddock where the cars were moved to before heading off for their hill runs. I got to chat with all of the Audi Le Mans drivers, and had a chat with Guy Smith (Bentley Le Mans 2003) and Steve Soper. :asskisser:

My shots are all a bit samey I'm afraid, but to be honest I wanted decent sharp shots of the cars rather than winning prizes for creativity.
