Live about 6 miles away bit of rain this morning and earlier this week. The grass looked quite long when i went past and obviously no one has driven on it since revival so think parking will be ok
Thanks for the info, I'm just wondering how long it will take to turn into a mud bath if the ground is still soft underneath after a few thousand cars have driven over it?Owning an Aussie car, they decided it doesn't need towing points, front or rear, getting stuck in mud could be a big PITA !!
I might have to make the journey in a loan car we have at the moment...............a Nissan Note

Well I'm delighted to be going with my Father in law and have my old 911 "selected" as a car to park at the chicane (its car number 173 if you want a peek) . The entry looks amazing and the forecast looks pretty good too. As revival constants attire isn't really an issue for us, so that debate is pointless. Can't wait....

I'm in the same boat with the civic, some clever person decided it doesn't need towing points, I'm guessing the same genius decided that unlocking the car the only way to deactivate the alarm is with the remote, my battery has just died..... But I can drive with the alarm going off Owning an Aussie car, they decided it doesn't need towing points, front or rear, getting stuck in mud could be a big PITA !!

Anyway back to parking, I managed to get out of the mud bath at the revival on the Sunday and that's a lot more vehicles so should be ok with matting down for the main central route.
I remember reading somewhere that they were putting the wet weather matting out in the car parks. I have a long history of driving like a tit in goodwood car parks. I had a fantastic cross-field race with a 911 Turbo and R8 V10 at FoS. I remember looking across at these two guys bouncing around in the convertible V10 laughing their heads off.
Weather forecast changing by the hour. My phone is saying rain on Friday and Monday but a cloud/sunny weekend. BBC is saying sunnyish saturday and a cloudy, but 15 degrees sunday and the rain pushed further away from the weekend.
Who knows, but i'm packing a golf umbrella and a rain coat.

The metalled roadways are down in the car parks, but it's pretty soggy already. The tractor drivers in the competitors camp site are very, very keen to assist, even with getting in! Getting some of the huge Stingrays out on Monday could be interesting.
The setup is very good, I won't spoil it, but Goodwood clearly have thought about the time of year they're running the event. Lots still going on at the circuit today and I think it will be pretty manic tomorrow. We've unloaded the race car and apart from scrutineering tomorrow, we're pretty much done. So I shall spend tomorrow taking photos as transporters arrive.
Staurday is race day for us, so unusually we get Sunday off to actually see the event. Very exciting!

Which race are you in RB?
We're in the Moss Trophy. Car 46, MGB. We've raced it all over the place, Le Mans Classic, Spa 6 hrs, Silverstone Classic and loads of UK club stuff, but I can't begin to tell you how excited we are to be at Goodwood. We don't have sponsors, it's a family/friends amateur set up and we work incredibly hard to get invited to these events.
Pop by and say Hi, we're in garage 55.
Rachel
So, the first race is after lunch on Saturday and the demonstration runs are repeated on Sunday. Given that I have weekend tickets I'm wondering what time to arrive on Saturday. Mid morning I think, time to look round (although I'm not expecting anything like the side shows of the Revival) grab a pasty and settle in to watch the first race. Thoughts?

If spectating both days, that's exactly what I'd do..Gassing Station | Goodwood Events | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
