There is a possible way to do it. It relies on a total Hail Mary manoeuvre from Goodwood. They press on as if there hasn’t been a delay. Then keep everything crossed that a week before the new ‘freedom day’ it is indeed announced as happening this time. I can’t see them taking the risk personally, but we shall see. There will be a lot of egg on a lot of faces if it goes wrong.
I can only see it going ahead (if there are still restriction in place) if they arrange for the PCR testing to take place like the other events that happened. I think it’s easier to just delay it but who know what will happen. Maybe like we are expecting with weddings they will remove the restrictions on outdoor events.ecsrobin said:
I think there will be a few days radio silence from Goodwood before a decision is made, maybe they can get in under a pilot trial event?
Announcement coming tonight according to their twitter feed. They have obviously worked out a plan already, just keeping us in suspense for a bit.

Which feed is this? I’m looking at the festival of speed one and can’t see anything. They have obviously worked out a plan already, just keeping us in suspense for a bit.
Edit:
I see it. It is in response to messages.
Statement just now on the Goodwood website:
“ The UK Government has announced there will be a further series of pilot events as part of the Events Research Programme (ERP) over the next four weeks. We are in discussions with the Government and public health authorities on finalising the details with regards to the Festival of Speed. We are expecting more information on the pilots to be announced later this week, at which point we will be able to confirm the next steps for this year’s event.
We will communicate with all ticket holders as a matter of high priority in the coming days ahead. ”

Maybe just the smallest glimmer of hope then. I get the feeling from the wording that Goodwood think it could be workable even with some compromises if it constitutes a ‘pilot’ event.
I guess we will see in the next couple of days….
Silverstone F1 ticket holders have had a similar message:I guess we will see in the next couple of days….
Following today’s announcement that the easing of lockdown restrictions will be delayed by four weeks, we’d like to reassure you that we remain confident that fans will be back at Silverstone for the 2021 Formula 1 British Grand Prix in July.
Our ongoing discussions with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, as well as Public Health England, are positive. We will communicate the full details with you once we have them.

Considering the connections the organisers have I think this is likely to get approved.
Anyone know what it involves for attendees? I read a test before and one 5 days after. No quarantine needed but need to minimise social contact for the 5 days.
The Ascot Race day gives a very good description of the process. Lateral Flow test and PCR test…..one hell of a lot of admin!Anyone know what it involves for attendees? I read a test before and one 5 days after. No quarantine needed but need to minimise social contact for the 5 days.

Looks like Wimbledon is going ahead at capacity and also the Euro games at Wembley will have 4 games with 40,000 people. I think this puts FoS in a good position
It doesn’t really. Wimbledon and Wembley are controlled seated crowds. Assuming FOS goes ahead next month - unlikely now I realise - does anyone know where I stand with the two free FOS Thursday 2020 tickets I received last year with my 78MM tickets? Are they still valid or am I supposed to have done something to roll them over from 2020 to this year?
Goodwood's email yesterday evening makes it clear they don't want people contacting them right now and I don't do Facebook so that cuts me out of the GRRC Facebook group. Anyone here know? TIA
