Moss in the BRP Lotus. 1962, and I'd guess it didn't end well.

You may like a browse through these then, all taken in the early 90s at either De Tomaso Drivers Club or Carrera Sport days:-

I know this car, it belonged to neighbour of a friend...we were in our late teens back then and were quite fascinated by it.
He had two of them at the same time, the one above had around 800bhp and the other 400bhp - they were both featured on Top Gear back in the day.
The owner must be around 75 now...he used to Rallycross, still runs an R33 and also a Mk1 & Mk2 Golf, both serious track cars and a Toyota Starlet that isn't stock. smile

I remember him also - used to completely blow away all the other cars on the circuit. Used to run the thing on slicks if I recall and made the Countach owners look very slow.

Is that Viper an early Saywell car ? Or is the AOG numberplate a co-incidence ?

Yep ,all the cars you see with the 'AOG' plate are cars from the saywell collection at the time. i think only the ferrari F40 is still apart of his current line up !

Diablo K7PLS was his too, as was the black Pantera LFX4 in the original post (whose registration is currently on Peter's blue K'egg).

This is a bit blurred, I'll see if I can scan the slide in a bit better later, but it'll give the idea...

This was circa '89

Just an update - The owner of this car is Mr. Reeves - recently in the news as those rioters burnt down his furniture shop at Reeves Corner (local landmark) in Croydon.

I used to go down there and watch Maurice demolish anything else going round in his Mk1 Golf. I was an early member of the 96 Club (now RMA) when subs were £100 for the year and trackdays were £60 if I can recall.
