Here's some of my photos from Friday. Great day with so much going on, both in the air and on the ground.

I'm sure there's loads I've missed, so would be good to see what everyone else saw over the weekend.

Nice shot Pompey of 'pole' man Lee Mumford in his pale blue Ginetta G4 in the Fordwater Trophy.

Pole position - and the other G4 in 5th place...

A Ginetta G4 win at Goodwood on the cards for Sunday after so many years.

Some track action from Friday - who said they don't try at the practices - thankfully all survived to race another day!

Still loads more photos to sort out, but if you are in the right place, at the right time....

Taken waaay too many photos to bore you all with, but I have a favourite - even top BTCC drivers need to check their 'nads before racing!

Few pics from Friday.

Once again, a world-leading event, much enjoyed.

Will, tell me how you get that effect with the Ferrari - there's no exif info on Flikr, but are you Photoshooping to keep the car perfectly focused and blurring the backgound? Or are you shooting wide open and getting you DOF so spot on??
It looks great.

I achieve this effect on my manual Leica by pre focussing where the car is going to be (so a little spot on the tarmac I know the car should pass) and panning with the car and shooting at the pre-focussed spot. If your shutter speed is correct then you get the effect. If not (like this one below) the background is not blurred enough as the shutter speed was too fast... the car was actually flat out racing!

Surely it's just a case of using a big aperture, f2, f4 or something and a fast shutter speed then focusing on the nose of the car? Or am I missing something?
