Looks a lot smaller too.
Mind you, the steaks are a lot smaller here in the UK
Depends where you buy them Mind you, the steaks are a lot smaller here in the UK
Not that big but it's ostrich.
Which reminds me of an old joke:
Why is it called an ostrich?
Have you seen the size of its egg?

I miss the languages, I miss hearing Zulu, Sotho and Afrikaans being spoken.
I do miss being able to use SA slang and people understanding me, without looking at me blankly.
Three South Africans in my team at work. (No, we're not in London and no, I don't work in a bar.)I do miss being able to use SA slang and people understanding me, without looking at me blankly.
Ons verstaan mekaar just fine.

I'm in Cape Town at the moment, two weeks into a month's holiday.
Electricity load-shedding, ANC, Malema, taxis and the general standard of driving, plus the extortionate cost of mobile telephony and data, are the negatives.
I've been in Fish Hoek since January and will be coming back at the end of next week.Electricity load-shedding, ANC, Malema, taxis and the general standard of driving, plus the extortionate cost of mobile telephony and data, are the negatives.
If you are using your UK mobile phone then things are going to get stupidly expensive, especially if using it for internet access. My provider was "offering" (I think that's Newspeak for extortion) data at £8 per mb (I would have used £320's worth last night alone if I had taken up their "offer")
Luckily a relation has a "dongle" which I borrow whilst I'm down here, and can get a local package using that. I'm talking to you now on a local data bundle that cost me R149 (£8.91 at the rate I got at the time) for 1GB and lasts for 30 days. My UK provider's "offer" would provide that amount of internet access for a cool £8,000.
Methinks somebody is taking the pysse...

I have 3 local SIMs. Two for phones and a data only SIM in a 4G MiFi in which I have used 18GB in the time I've been here so far. No video streaming, general use.If you are using your UK mobile phone then things are going to get stupidly expensive, especially if using it for internet access. Not sure where you are based in the UK at the moment, but if you are London way there is a Spur in the O2
I'm in the South West - Swindon & Bristol - so a trip to the O2 is somewhat out of the way.Wasn't there also one in Slough?
