Looks like the news is not great regarding a full recovery (just me reading between the lines) but this is surely good news for Martyn...

...back on a hand bike, and trying out other sports for disabled people. It's got to help his mental recovery to be back involved with sport again.

It's pretty inspirational really, only about 4 months on from the accident, and he's already out there, grabbing new opportunities and pushing himself into new things.

Good luck with your recovery, Martyn.

Bit of a legend. Bets on how long before he releases "Hand Bike Party"?

Typical of the sort of guy he appears to be - gritty, determined, optimistic and personable.

I am sure, not for a moment, was he mired in any sort of "why me?" mindset. He seems to have just accepted this has happened, with humility, and moved his focus from achieving near impossible stunts on the bike, to achieving near impossible recovery. I really do wish him all the very best luck and am equally sure that, whatever the physical outcome, we have not seen the last of him.

Superb, that must be such a great feeling for him still being able to get out and ride.

That video made me smile from ear to ear last night.

I've ridden that trail at Antor Stiniog and it's pretty impressive he's picked that one for his first ride back on an mtb!

He can't pedal and can't put his feet down, terrifying!

Im very much a recreational rider and not really followed any DH/XC etc so not aware of what he did. Ive watched almost all for the GMBN videos and had no idea he was injured.

Fantastic to watch, you could see he was loving it. Wonder if there will be a paralympics MTB downhill event!
