Went out to beat my mate's times on his route to work, just to annoy him. Ended up getting my first ever KOM!!!! 6 mile segment, slightly downhill for some of it, 15:00 dead.

Granted, there was ever such a slight breath of wind at my back, as I discovered on the journey home... but I'm still proud of my KOM, for as long as it lasts.

Has anyone found a good alternative for Windows phones?

I've tried MapMyRide, but with no typically no signal where I ride, only uploads/records the last ride... (leaving it on all the time results in the phone crashing.)

Cycle Tracks GPS will upload to Strava, but you have to pay for it (a whopping £1.39), but want proper opinions before I splash out... hehe

Seems some total knob-jangler has been marking a lot of segments around my area as 'hazardous' - including climbs like Streatley Hill, I assume whoever has been doing this will also be removing copies of the top 100 UK climbs from the shelves of local book-stores?

FFS you genetically challenged cock, if you think it is hazardous don't fecking ride it (and sell your bike and take up golf, or tiddlywinks, or masturbation)!!!

I think the pelican crossing in the middle of my village is hazardous, maybe I should wrap the lights in black clingfilm and paint over the white lines...................

Can you not "try" it first? (I use in quotation marks on purpose...when I view the windows phone app store, anything that's paid I get the option to try, which is use it for 2 weeks with limited functionality (or sometimes full)?

It's an "in-app purchase" for the Strava add-on.

Didn't see a "try it" option, only a "no refunds" warning.

Turns out it hammered my battery even when not in use anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

The weird thing is that to make it hazardous they have to have ridden it. Anyone who takes on Streatley is obviously a proper cyclist.

Just checked and mine are safe biggrin

Must remember not to go ranting on the web when I get home from the local pub quiz!!

Your downhill segments are safe from me, I have lost so much bloody weight I can barely match the downhill segments I set two years ago - let alone beat them!

No Strava for anyone at the moment!

Their current "typically 15-45 minutes" maintenance window has been going on since at least 11pm last night...

They aren't all downhill. Some of them are even flat!

biglaugh

I gave Church Lane a squirt last night but it was just too dark to know where the corners are so kept backing off and braking hard - you have me by 12 seconds on that one, so I will have to go back and have another go in the daylight!

Can't get near you on Temple Way downhill though!

First Strava app crash today, lost a ride with a good chase in it irked

I hope they've not engineered unreliability into the latest upgrade. Prior to this it's been faultless...
