How come the blue 'Tubeless' is called the death trap?

I thought the other two were the notorious ones - due to catching your family-jewels on the gear shift if you fell off.

- Also, Choppers arn't my strong suit, was the blue one without the top tube the first generation?
Headtube parts company with the downtube with ease...catching your bits in the top tube is less traumatic than using your face as a brake smile
And the bars fatigue and sheer at the clamp... As does the rear triangle. I'm sure my father was trying to kill me laugh

New toy

Large frame Trek Roscoe 6 in Purple Flip 22 which as it turns out has this lovely blue 'pearlescent' finish to it. The only mods so far are a set DMR V12 flats and some Nukeproof V2 25mm bars. The rear hub sucks but other than that it's a fantastic bit of kit.

Agree. Mtb colour schemes are generally crap. Nice to see a pretty one.

I wasn’t allowed one, my dad was fixed wheel time trial rider so I got a ‘proper’ bike, probably the reason I spent 30 odd years riding a BMX laugh

Looks to the same chain as mine. rofl

This was yesterday on a shakedown run out after a recent service…

Not the sexiest bike on this thread, but I wanted a commuter I could just jump on and go.

8-sp Alfine hub gears with belt drive, so no oily chain or derailleur to worry about
Dynamo and permanent lights (no more charging!)
Mudguards and rack for panniers
Built-in lock
Even reflective tyre sidewalls and a kick stand!

Hop on and go. Takes away all the excuses that meant I only ended up cycling to work a handful of times per year.

As a tool for a job, that's a great bit of kit.

I'm properly tempted by a belt drive bike, probably with pinion gearbox.

My son (16) is riding from Frankfurt over the alps to Lake Garda this summer, so he’s got this On One Bootzipper travel/adventure bike.

I’ve just about finished pimping this Tern Link folder, which I need for the autumn when I commute between Frankfurt and Saarbruecken.

That’s a helluva commute by bike. Even a Brompton!

I'm guessing a train's also involved.

Absolutely; either ICE or TGV, and I’m hoping I won’t get thrown off either with a small-wheeled folder in a bag.

It arrived on Wednesday, I've only just built it up - riding today. Convenient time for a four day weekend!

That is a lovely looking bike. Not up to speed on Raaw. Is it steel, the tubes have that slender look?

I bought one of those Michelins last week.

It came off. Horrible thing. Would be good for the Alps though. Very very heavy feeling and draggy. It made my front eheel weigh the same as my rear!

Report back what you think. I really like that.

I found VHS chainstay tape worked a treat on my alloy Geometron to stop chain noise. I notice the Madonna has a little in the way of sound deadening too.

They’re 1.4kg per tyre- but this is a bike for going downhill, so I’m ok with the weight.
