You've got a frame with pannier mounting points though. That's cheating!

It's called a tailwind laugh.
nono

I've got more surface area with which to benefit from a tailwind than any of my overtakers! hehe

Pretty easy huh? 10 whole metres climbed & still took me 18 minutes. Oh the red wine!

9k standing up this morning thanks to numb arse from yesterday's sportive endavours.

So glad my office chair is well padded.

Seemed a little quieter in town though - holidays and olympic effect perhaps?

hehe I was in agony this morning, too much walking up hills in flip flops this weekend and the calves are ridiculously stiff frown

Thought the opposite though - too many people inspired by the nice weather and Wiggo/Cav hehe

My usual route in this morning – 38k – beautiful morning, virtually no wind. This was my first ride for two weeks for various reasons, so was pleased to bag it in under an hour and ten.

It is usually going home where I feel the lack of practice….

There were a lot of people out yesterday afternoon / early evening. Didn't notice any real difference this morning, but it was quite early...

I've seen buses slip stream behind Chris wink

sorry couldn't resist
No you haven't, you lying git! irked

They only have double-deckers on my route, so I'm not tall enough for them to slipstream! tongue out

Anyway, I have almost certainly now done my last commute until September. I've got 3 days out of the office this week, then it's Olympic shutdown, then my holiday, then it's September. Just have to get my road bike back soon to enjoy a few evenings out.

I regard knobbly bobblies as part of the work out. But I have every sympathy for those getting rid.

What a pleasurable ride home. My 6 mile ride ended up being 30....

That has been my plan all summer, and today was only the second time I got to realise it.

On the subject of "taking the scenic route home", anyone from London fancy an impromptu potter out to Boxhill tonight? You can then:
  1. Embarrass me away from the lights.
  2. Draft me on the flats.
  3. Show me a clean pair of heels up Boxhill.
  4. Sarcastically congratulate me when I make it.
  5. Marvel at how I should have ACME written on me as I descend like an anvil.
Leaving the City about 17:30 - 18:00, if anyone fancies it!

Lovely 10 mile ride in this morning through the local country lanes, lugging a backpack with suit etc made me slow down, sit up in the saddle, and take in the passing countryside and bridsong.

I know I am in for a ste day in the office, but at least I have a nice ride home to look forward to!!!! smile

If I can escape, I'm up for that. Should know around 4pm if I can make it. I'll check back here then...
