I'm still suffering from 'new bike so don't want to get it dirty or wet syndrome', hopefully it will pass soon!
It returns each time you clean the blasted things, in my experience.

I rode home from the City to Sidcup yesterday in the torrential rain... honestly at times the road were so waterlogged I was literally riding through a stream!!!!

The side of me that needs to analyse every bit of my training (yes, my commute IS training too wink ) is still hankering to know how many extra calories I burned and watts produced to get through the extra water resistance!!

poss off topic, but horses are usually spooked by bikes until they get used to them

I got soaked last night. My feet were blocks of ice when I got home. If I had been wearing the right clothing, I might have been alright. It would still have been miserable being scared of touching the brakes.

I'll stike to being a fair weather lad.

A few years ago we were on Ogden Moor it absolutely poured down all the way round. The trail we were riding was more like a stream with the amount of water running down. It was a great ride hardly anybody else about completely soaked covered in mud great ride. I haven't let rain stop me since.

I find that riding in the rain is a bit crap. XC is ok but Downhill I just wouldn't bother. Riding in the wet is good though, as long as its not falling out of the sky everything is a-ok

Not a big fan of the rain but don't mind so much if it is not too heavy. I won't normally head out if it is raining unless I've missed lots of training and need to. On a wet day I'll normally wait for a break in the weather, that way you have a chance to warm up then just stick the rain cape on if it starts raining. I hate racing in the rain, it's misery.
