Hello all, I did it in 4 hours on a road bike but was with a mate who was on a full suspension mountain bike complete with knobley tyres! and I stayed with him as it was just us two and did'nt want to be selfish. Had 3 hold ups with crashes for ambulance to come through. We left at 7.45 Arrived at finish line at 11.43(too late)next time will leave earlier and my mate Dean says he is going to buy some road tyres for it. although he wants me to do it on my mountain bike so we are equal (although mine is a hardtail) as he is very competitive. He had a face like a bulldog licking ps off a nettle when he saw what bike I was using smile We both got up the beacon with gritted teeth though (we had done no training for this whatsoever) I had not riden my bike for a year! so was well happy with that. My full competitive spirit came out after the beacon. I saw 3 fellas on road bikes all in the same jerseys and they looked quite fast so I thought I would have em! I got into top gear was cranking over at about 70kph allong the top then followed them to the fastest downhill part with the speed camera (covered with a bag as fast cycles set it off!) I scalped all 3 of them and not one person came past me down that hill. I recorded 83kph with a big rucksack on (not very aerodynamic) which is 51.5 mph not bad methinks. Will be doing it again next year for sure and would love to join some PHers.

Well done guys!

54 miles is a fair old slog made even worse by bike traffic and newbies on bikes.

Which is why I now avoid it.

If you find some other challenging ride I will join you!

Well done chaps. Now get rid of those eco drive pieces of crap and rev the nuts of some v8s to make up for your straying from the true path.

It's okay, everything is now balanced... I drove the TVR into the office today smile

First time i'd done any cycling in 8 years. And i managed to complete it in 5hrs 28 minutes cycling time (over 9 hours due to traffic), average speed of 10.1mph max speed of 48.5mph on a 12 yr old fixed frame mountain bike.

Well done everyone that took part. So what's next on the list for the PH Peloton? La Marmotte? Gran Fondo Campagnolo? La Ventoux? Vatternrundan?

I've registered my interest for next years L2B already, hopefully if there's a Team PH again I'll be allowed to join in the fun.

That's not bad going. Good work thumbup
it was very crowded for the first 8 miles.
circa 3 hrs is a good time, some of the boys ie dubbs could of got well under that
Hello from Sunny Joburg biggrin Got the packing done once I got home just about - was good to hang around a bit longer and say hi to everyone, congrats to all!!

Yep, managed a 2h50 which bearingin mind a couple of minutes sodding around just after the start plus congestion I reckon pace for the rest could of even got it sub 2h40... I'd have been really chuffed with that - as I had a quick sprint against another rider at the end (and lost frown ) the guy on the tannoy mentioned us being 35th across the line which was really surprising!

Couple of guys from De Vere cycling literally made ditchling look like a flat... damn them I was nearly falling off with very little energy by that point!!! biggrin

I reckon I'll not be alone on the 6am "sprint" group next year... best get myself in training now to keep up pace I reckon smile

Congrats again Team PH - everyone did really well and all for a good cause...

Stuart - you've got 3 months to get the next excuse on its way wink congrats to you too fella.

I've just noticed the 2:50 to complete. Nice time. There was me feeling happy with 2:45 for a 40miler on Sunday on my MTB on knobblies.
