Plenty on Amazon. The way Amazon lusts stuff is a mess, but you can find them easy enough

I was thinking more high street places / LBS, as on line won’t help you if you run out of spares on a ride.

Get a couple of the Topeak extenders like these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Topeak-Presta-Valve-Exten...

And carry them in your pocket - they work with normal tubes without needing to faff about with the valve cores and you can remove them after use.

They are as fragile as the reviews suggest, but if you don't go at them like a gorilla wearing boxing gloves, you should be good.

How deep are your rims?? I've never needed any more than 60mm for my Bora 50s.

I think they're 55mm.

I finally got around to putting a mudguard on... now that winter is over. Still mud around though! Will be interesting to see if it makes much difference.

I was quite happy with the colour matching anyway.

I see what you did there trying to confuse us with your "winter is over" post. How dare you!

55mm, the 60 mm valves sit almost flush with the holes, due to them being 2 way / tubeless, unless you run without the shipping nut, which I don’t because I hate valves rattling around in Carbon rims. I tried running them as tubeless, but found them to be an absolute liability ( cutting up, sidewall tears, burping, and so on and so forth)so returned to using tubes.

They work nicely on shorter valves

Worth checking, 60mm could well work. I comfortably have 5mm of clearance before the valve/dust cap.

I guess those need the valve core removed? Seems a faff to me and something I have never bothered with, plus Michelin aircomp latex tubes don't come with a removable core (to my knowledge).

I like the topeak ones because you can use them with any tube you find lying around and I can really, really notice the extra watts saved through the rotating weight and aero savings of removing them afterwards.

Second limited run Rapha Jersey in as many weeks - not quite as contentious as the Palace kit this time. Sold out immediately in UK and US but seemingly less popular in Asia.

I’d seen that in the ‘coming soon’ section on the Rapha site but hadn’t realised it was RCC exclusive/limited. Looks great.

It’s not RCC only, but RCC members get 48hr early access to all product launches now.

I think it is a limited run, though.

Ah, thanks. I’ll keep an eye on the site and see if any more become available over the next day or two.

Heath Robinson 'bus shelter' to protect the Garmin pressure sensor ports from rain - two recent rides in heavy rain found the elevation 'stuck' after an hour regardless of terrain. No idea yet if it will work but cost = £0.00.

10k km on the Neo and the cassette is now trashed - so, new cassette time.

Which of course means things escalate:
Can't get shimano cassettes from CRC but since I'm there I'll get a KMC Red / Black chain for the TT bike (used on the trainer)
Since I'm looking at KMC Chaings - might as well get a yellow / black one for the Slate
and Since I'm on CRC I may as well get a decent box of gooodies so nutrition stuff as well.

Since I'm replacing the chain and cassette, seems sensible to replace the Chainrings -
Aerocoach ARC carbons

Still don't have the cassette - so will pick one up this eve, and while I'm out, new discs and pads for the XR4.

...and since I'll be in the area, I'll pick up my HK Chapter RCC Jersey which arrived this morning, so that's the 3rd Rapha Jersey in a fortnight laugh

Will be interesting to see what the Aerocoach chainrings are like. One thing is for sure, they'll look mega on the Aerium!

Last year I set up a budget pain-cave in the garage (which has no power. I found a CycleOps Pro PT300 spin bike with a PowerTap meter for £200 on FB Marketplace, and used a £20 bluetooth speaker to listen to music. It worked, but I melted even when it was dry enough to move outside. This is the bike:

https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/training/indoor-...

This winter I've made a couple of upgrades. A tablet with content downloaded, perched on a small shelf put into the clamp on my bike stand and £15 wireless earbuds have made the neighbours more friendly, and the time pass a lot quicker. A rechargeable 20 watt work light from Screwfix means the whole garage lights up nicely.

The best thing though is the rechargeable fan from Aldi. They're listed at £50, but there was one in my local for £25. Each battery will last about 100 mins on the maximum setting, and it makes a huge difference. I have it on the garage door, blowing down my back, and it's ace.

https://www.aldi.co.uk/ferrex-18v-li-ion-cordless-...

In the last 6 weeks or so, I've seen a 10% increase in average power over an hour long steady state ride, whilst at the same time my average heart rate has come down about 10 bpm. I'm not going to state the power, because I have no idea when the machine was last calibrated, but it should be comparable from ride to ride on the same unit.
