Magicshine for a little over 17 quid.

Don't be fooled by the fact that it isn't branded. It's the real deal (I've got two).

just ordered mine.
Me too. I was at Cannock last night and suddenly realised I could only just see where I was going when I was in amongst the trees.

Might order another one for my helmet but I'll see how I go with just one to begin with.
So these are pretty good then?

Just looking at the sellers feedback and there are a few negatives - but thats only understandable I guess due to the numbers they are shifting (not spotted anything negative related the actual quality of the light though)

Would I be able to get away with just one for spot of night cycling on some easy offroad paths?
Just been out for my first ever night ride at Cannock and the light performed perfectly, you'd have no problem using just one.

I cut the middle section out of the included head strap, and it fitted perfectly to my helmet and didn't appear to move at all.

I'll be ordering another one shortly plus a wide angle lens, the more light the better IMO.

Thanks Watchman thumbup

You're very welcome although I'm pretty sure I was originally pointed in the direction of "Chinese knock-off Magicshines" (needs trademarking) thanks to PH a year or so ago. biggrin

I'm just a very happy customer.

I just got one of these for my commute (drivers who don't dip their headlights to cyclists are the single most annoying thing about cycling to work)...

...it is brilliant.

Like above, mine has arrived and it is superb.

If the battery life is as it says ( 3 hours at 100% brightness ) it really is a good purchase for that price. Only ordered at the back end of last week.

I've found one problem with my light, rabbits! Had three run out in front of me last night, they get dazzled and don't what to do, how I didn't hit one of them I don't know? Still great though, so good I'm going to get another and ditch my cateyesmile

Would you believe it - it arrived today! The final day before I could open a "didn't arrive" ticket on eBay.
That's great news (for you!) I'm hoping mine may turn up soon.....I'll give it another couple of weeks.

Enjoy!
Mine finally arrived today. Looks good and was worth the wait.

Mine still hasn't arrived. I emailed the seller and got this back:

"tomtop_digital is out of the office until 09/11/2012 and may not be able to
respond to your message.

Message from tomtop_digital:
To all my dear customers,
No matter you will see this letter or not, I need to apologize to all of you.
Sorry for my late reply, my boyfriend was ill, STOMACH BLEEDING, our families are not in ShenZhen, so I had to go to hospital to look after him. I am so scared at that time, afraid that he will go, and leave me alone. Sincerely apologize for my absent.
Today he is still not feel good, but I have to back to work, I cannot put all my heart on work, I still worried about his health.
Any inconvenience, hope you can understand me.
Thank you so much."

So that's a few more days delay...

Thought the earlier links sounded a bit flaky, even if it was a fair bit cheaper - latest posting on that is alarming - plus I needed a rear light too, so I;ve just ordered too.

Looking forward to trying the thing out.

There was an estimated five to seven day delivery but they got here in three. The rear light is okay as well. Loads of different settings even though only constant light is legal. Having just bought a laser rear light that's just as good as a led light without the laser gimmick it's just added to my rear set up to compliment the others.

Only needed an 'occasional' rear light for the mtb on the odd road crossing or short bit of tarmac running that we do.

The LED light is primarily for Mrs Digga, for running in evenings, now the winter is on us, but will be a useful back up (OR possible replacement) for my ageing Hope 2 LED.

From the brief comms I've had with tomtop-digital regarding a minor problem with my shipment I get the impression they are a straight-up dealer who are very willing to try and resolve any issues. I think the reported problem with family illness is probably genuine, though I appreciate this shouldn't really be the customer's problem. Still, with only £17 or so at stake I think some slack should be cut.

I bought one of these Magicshine clones very recently, and whilst it's certainly very bright, the symmetric (circular) beam shape is not great for use on a bike as the only front lamp. It is also dazzling to other road users if it's adjusted to give a reasonable amount of forward vision.

With the Magicshine fresnel lens they are quite a lot better though there is still a fair bit of scatter lighting up the tree tops etc. The mounting arrangement with a big O-ring is also pretty crap, even with the shortest O-ring stretched murder tight the lamp still tends to move around when going over rough stuff. My first mod (after fitting the new lens) will be to sort the mounting out, as it's bloody annoying to have to keep adjusting it.

Which is why a few of us have bought wide angle converter lenses for them. See up the thread for links.

The mounts can be picked up cheap, I'm yet to try mine out on my bike getmecoat. The other half used it recently faffing about with the horses on the head mount and she now wants one!

Business is business. I'll pay a few quid more if it brings fast, more certain results. Matter of choice really.

Although I am not unsympathetic to their plight.
