when did Amberwall come back into fashion?
Last couple of years. Particularly on gravel bikes, and polished stainless/titanium frames with brown accessories.I'm glad I went blackwall and black leather Brooks on mine though, although I was temped by brown to go with the orange Hope bits for the full 70s effect...

Things of beauty. Where does one find these specimens? EBay doesn’t really seem much cop.
Both from Ebay actually. The Pace was a mismatched spec so has been rebuilt to do it justice. The F3000 is nearly as it came, just a few small tweaks. Ive actually just swapped the wheels for another set of crossmax which are nicer condition so now logos are all lined up. I buy quite a few retro bikes and parts so if you like this sort of thing my instagram for them is dom_builds_bikes where i try to put most interesting things.

Absolutely stunning, now following on Instagram. Might motivate me to do something with the 1996 Gary Fisher Excalibur sat the garage getting old and collecting more dust I buy quite a few retro bikes and parts so if you like this sort of thing my instagram for them is dom_builds_bikes where i try to put most interesting things.
Ooh, that's a great bike (96 Xcaliber)... One I remember fondly - the first 'high end' bike I sold in my first teenage job... Dude was great as I gushed over it for 30 minutes.
He took it for a ten second spin round the car park, and pulled out his debit card. Pretty sure he knew exactly what he wanted but humoured my mid-teen enthusiasm!

I have Schwalbe citijets mainly because they were cheap and they had gum sidewalls (the tyres that came on my Cannondale were gum coloured too). Word of warning with the citijets, they are lethal on anything other than dry tarmac as my Baracuta G9 will testify.
The Schwalbe Marathon Supreme (not the heavy version of the Marathons) are very good slick tyres. Road Cruisers are a good all-rounder. john7 said:
Interesting fact for you. Tim Gould used to be sponsored by Peugeot and was, obviously, seen one one at all times. Except, when he was racing he was actually on a Roberts White Spider painted up to look like a Peugeot.keith2.2 said:
Took it down a local DH trail - it faired much better than I expected - the suspension still feels plush but wow the bb height, wheelbase and angles make themselves known!
I got back on my 2014/5 Ragley Piglet the other day. 26 inch wheel hardtail with 120mm fork and 720mm bars. I don't know how I ever rode that thing off road without doing myself some serious damage. The geometry, wheelbase and bar width were all ridiculous compared to my current bike.Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
