Used to be part of my daily commute. Much safer than taking the road.

Where abouts do/did you cycle from? Burwell for me, to Addenbrookes, soon to be central Cambridge.

Was also Burwell into Cambridge but now go along the Busway as we moved so the kids had better transport links.
I got to ride the new cycle path from Anglesey Abbey for a bit before we moved and that improved things a lot. The bit from Lode to Burwell is OK but if you fancy a slightly longer and rougher route on the way home in good weather it can be decent to turn left into Lode and follow the road through the village, you can then head North again and go through White Fen and eventually into Wicken Fen. From there it's a short ride to Burwell.

Ah nice. Transport links is an issue, but our kids are 2 and 8 months so we have a little while to wait until it becomes an issue. A shame really as we love Burwell.

I've done lode into the fens a few times, really nice area to cycle when the weather's nicer. Takes you down the back of Prior and into Reach. Currently I'm just heading towards Bottisham via Newmarket Road and up to Bulbeck from there as its a little less mucky...

I try to stay off the roads where possible, so utilising the cycle routes is nice. I'm finding that getting to work is roughly the same time as driving (circa 1 hour), coming home it's about 5-10 minutes slower, unless traffic is particularly bad.

Did a 3.5hr loop East towards York area yesterday and took this photo at Bolton Percy.
I do enjoy seeing all the different Churches, Abbey’s etc on my rides.

Headwind out, tailwind home. First time at Burton Farm Shop. Lots of space and good quiet roads nearby. The perfect ride doesn't exist but this was pretty close.

First ride out in a couple of months due to long covid. It hurt... A lot. Worth it though.

Had a great few hours at Cannock yesterday, it was sodding cold but it looked stunning.

The ice covered roots were certainly exciting at times! laugh My shoes laces were frozen solid when I got back to the car. I love winter riding when it’s like yesterday. Today is a bit warmer and we’ve had some snow to this mornings ride is probably going to be a horror show.

I was meant to be at Cannock Chase this morning, but my friend started making excuses, so I decided to ride a local loop, on the basis I could at least start before the rain. It was cold, then muddy, but still better than not going out! It also made the clean up easier, rather than having to change out of wet/muddy kid to drive home.
