Oh the shame. Seizing a sun-downer in an eMTB wink

Did you even go to Llandegla if you didn't take a photo at the top...

I was away for the weekend, but managed to sneak in a local trail ride before I left. The trails are drying out nicely, but there are still a lot of trees down.

I need to get back to Llandegla, one of my favourite loops and I've not been in over a year!

Always a good excuse for a breather after trying to keep up with my son. The gap's getting bigger - he's at least 5mins quicker than me up the fire road now frown Time to start taking the Levo!

We're up there once a week. I know some folk bash it but we really enjoy it. The trails are well maintained, even when it's been pissing down for weeks, everyone is friendly and the cafe is decent. It's good fun on a HT although my creaking knees thank me for using the FS.

Really? It's always been one of my favourite trail centres, perfect distance, enough fun stuff to have a giggle and like you say a cafe at the end along with a bike shop to tempt you with the shiny shiny. What's not to like?

It's mainly "proper" riders on the Singletrack forum who complain the black isn't a black, there's not enough big hits, not much off-piste, the fire road is boring etc.

I'm with you - I think it's great.

I'm not quite there yet with my son, but he's only 7, we went last year, but I feel like a return visit is in order. He's on a bigger bike now too.

I think the facilities there are great, and I don't mind the "tame" trails - I want to have fun and get back in one piece, but when I'm there I always feel like there is more climbing than descending, even though it is a loop back to the start.

Definitely. I think the hardest thing when they're smaller is the fireroad climb but a bigger wheeled bike will help for sure. The blue they can roll at a sensible pace without too many issues really.

The fireroad is a bit dull but on the plus side the views are good and once you reach the crossroads at halfway up the gradient does slacken off a bit. I'm in two minds really - on balance I think it's best to get all the hard work out of the way and then on the decent there's only a few short climbs - on the blue at least!

That’s my overall issue with Llandegla; it feels like a lot of climbing for nor enough reward.

I went for the first time in years between Christmas and New Year and I was a bit meh about it (cafe was good as always though laugh ). I think I’d rather drive the extra half an hour to CYB.

Got one from yesterday and one from today. Both in Sankey Valley Park in Warrington. Mountain Bike ride yesterday lunch which was fun and a morning ride through the paths on the gravel/hybrid.

A new game for you all - Spot The Buzzard.
He was hunting, swooping silently from tree to tree, and is perched on a branch somewhere in this picture...
...unfortunately, not wearing a white and red stripy jumper!

In other news, new narrower/higher bars are definitely more comfortable, and it's still cold out:

It was -7C in the garden this morning. So I waited until it was a balmy 0C before going out in the afternoon.
