No, wouldnt dream of it either! A nice path up from All Stretton.AndyWoodall said:
Yep, I had a couple of routes up from All Stretton that I use to get up there and always come down towards Minton or Little Stretton.
To be honest, I dont really get the Minton Batch hype. Ive ridden it a few times, just so narrow and rutted in places. Little Stretton is much faster, but less technical admittedly, but does have a pub at the bottom. Different strokes for different folks!

Yeah, funny isn't it as I'm not a fan of that descent into Little Stretton, like the grassy bit but didn't much enjoy the track down to the campsite. Minton on the other hand is my cup of tea, narrow and rutted. Different strokes for different folks!
Great riding though all over the hill really, I want to check out the descents around/down to Ratlinghope but haven't explored yet.

Not today but climbed Bulbarrow Hill (highest paved road in Dorset) early on Sunday morning as part of a 67 miler. A cracking climb, already want to go back and improve my segment time - there's a little bit of a flat section near the top with some great views, I stopped to take some photos thinking the segment was over... not so Got some nice pics though;

Nice ride tonight. The weather was boot-iful, bike felt good and I had set a few new Strava PRs, when this happened..
Snapped Dropout by Alastair Cummins, on Flickr
The dropout snapped while ambling along a narrow singletrack It was only replaced by a Specialized dearler a couple months ago, so hopefully can get it sorted easily enough by them. Unfortunately though it was has also bent the derailier, and one of the wheel spokes, which I doubt they will be too keen to cough up for.

Did that as part of the Bournemouth 100 last year at about half way. View from the top very good. Some other good climbs and drops over there too.Segment on strava for anyone who's interested - http://www.strava.com/segments/2450680

I can't work out what we're looking at there. Can you take one a bit further away?
I think the background is really confusing - since it is obviously the top of the seat tube which is normally nowhere near the chain or hanger.I think we are looking at the back-side of the rear derailleur with the aforementioned snapped hanger attached.
You can't see the jockey wheels but you can see the big spring that does all the work on a rear mech and the twisty thing you use to fine tune the indexing down the bottom of the photo attached to the gear cable.
ETA - I don't know the difference between drop-out and hanger - doh!

It's his rear mech and half the hanger, alongside his seat tube. Which I'm sure is the wrong place for a rear mech. The rear wheel drop outs are way off to the left in the picture so far as I can see. It would appear that his mech hanger has snapped and been dragged round the top, complete with rear mech, which has mangled the mech and at least one spoke. Bigger screen today and it's a bit clearer. We're looking at the broken HANGER (not drop-out - I did wonder how that could be fixed previously). what confused me previously is that we're looking at the hanger from the wheel-side, and therefore the dérailleur is on the other side. I was looking for something which explained how the pin in the hanger was inserted - obviously it's a hex key bolt with the hex being on the other (not seen) side.
Got it..!! Thanks.

Yeah the view up there was cracking, apparently on a clear day you can see Wilts, Devon & Somerset. Little bit murky on Sunday morn though. Definitely some other fun humps and descents... I liked going through Milton Abbas - proper little chocolate box village with a sharp climb out! As I'm visiting Cornwall this week I had a run over to Cardinham woods to check out the trails. They're rated as blue with a couple of red diversions. Unfortunately one of the reds was closed for maintenance but I didn't feel that I missed out on anything as the blue is really challenging. The one red I did do wasn't really much more difficult which shows how great the blue is rather than criticising the red. Great fun and if you're in the area well worth a visit.
I only took one pic which was a post ride recovery shot outside the picturesque cafe
