My "old" Emonda.

New on 11th March 2015, I hadn't really twigged it was now a five year old bike. This photo is about two years old though. Currently at 13,878 miles according to Strava.

It's entirely original save for service items. Tyres are an upgrade, as are brake cartridges (Conti and SwissStop respectively) although I did wear out the 'factory' tyres before upgrading to Contis . Cassette and chain are a "downgrade" from Ultegra level to 105 level. I just can't see the benefit in spending quite a lot extra to shave a handful of grams from the bike. Grams I could easily lose by streamlining the breakdown spares and tools I carry (in my pockets).

I can easily spend 10 hours in the saddle without much in the way of discomfort. And it's done a lot of byway, bridleway, and even some mild single track work too, when I'm far from home and get curious as to where a bridleway goes or some other daft excursion away from sealed surfaces.

I'm not much of a hardcore biker but here is a picture of my mountain / off road bike which I've had for a few years.

It's ex London olympics:

I'm interested in the mtb, was this used at the Olympics? Same type? What is it?
MTB is a BMW. Was used at Dorney lakes for the rowing. Probably some fat 40 something yelling at the rowers telling them to try harder.

hehe

I can pretty much guarantee very few "fat 40 somethings" can keep up with a elite racing boat!

Most rowing coaches are still pretty damned fit in their own right. I know when I was a late teen (rowing at a pretty high level) our coach - mid 40s, ex-olympian - could still run absolute rings around us.

So 12 weeks after crashing my Tarmac, I finally picked up the replacement today.

2020 S-Works Tarmac SL6 on Dura Ace Di2
Went out on it today and it's a rocket compared to my winter Allez and the old Tarmac.

Ignore the high seatpost, that was just how the shop stuck it. Rediculously hard to capture the colour properly too

I love the Master Olympic.

In my youth, I worked in a bike shop in Richmond. One of the guys bought a MO in the yellow paint. Used to set it on a stand pride of place in the middle of the store.

Even though we didn't sell Colnago...

Bloody certain he used to get a commission for any sales he referred to the dealer down in Pagham!

Love it, congrats. I said i'd never have a black bike again, but I would say not matt black as gloss looks stunning (if it is black that is, I'm severely colour blind!)biggrin

It's chameleon supernova, goes purple, green, blue, copper and red, depending on the light it's in. Photos do it no justice.

I concur, I know someone that had one, it shimmers as if it's alive.

Yes, seen some at the Specialized concept store. Beautiful finish which elevates an already stunning bike.

It was my nephew's 13th birthday recently, so my brother found this old bike for sale cheap locally, bought it and refurbished it for him. Pretty cool I think.
