I'll reiterate that. Great value for money, and we got a bit lucky with the weather! We stayed in Liege, on the river, which meant a 1000ft climb to the start. I'll never consider Belgium flat again.

Feckin 'ell, that was as I thought - a bloody long day.
But also a bloody brilliant one! Even more respect for what the Pros do now.

Agreed, brilliant tough day, looks like we were fairly close together at times (especially after we got a bit lost at the start)But also a bloody brilliant one! Even more respect for what the Pros do now.

I'm doing the ride wiltshire 64 this saturday - should be a nice and easy one - only 2700ft of climbing over the whole route. Then i'll be watching the semi pros do their stuff in Wilton on sunday :-)
Got the IoW ferry sportive in July - 100 miles, and am thinking about the 80+ Wiggle 'long one' at the end of june as good preparation...

Signed up for this and hoping to complete my first century on the day : http://humanrace.co.uk/events/cycling/london-cycle...
Have been putting in a bit of practice and the other week i did my first 70 miles. I felt remarkably fresh afterwards so i'm hoping that I'll be OK on the event above.

I'm booked to do the Standard but realistically and considering the rating I'm prob going to change my booking to the short...I've yet to ride more than 30miles in one hit.
Feel free to take a look at the route files and see what you think

I'm now starting to really question why I signed up but too late to back out now
Yep, we'll be there for the curry. I'm pretty scared that I'll bomb at about 150 miles, but I've been working quite hard and I feel like it's at least possible that I can finish. Two of our team have dropped out though.
I've got 2x 120 mile rides this coming weekend (Saturday, bringing my bike up to London from home; Sunday, L2B and back) so if I can accomplish them, I'll be a bit more confident.
Have you got some people to ride with?

Yeah 5 of us from my club plus 2 workmate of one of the guys, think it's going to be quite busy, there's 4 ladies from a T.Well club going too.
Whether I'll ride with the club guys remains to be seen, I've done the least prep and a couple of them are likely to want to push on (don't understand the meaning of riding well within limits).

It is my prep ride for Ride London 100. Looking to do something else in June around Hampshire/Surrey if anyone has any ideas, circa 65-75 miles.
Heading to Italy to do the Gran Fondo Sportful Dolomiti this weekend.
A bit of a last minute trip, so not really sure what to expect.
Claims to be (as many do) the hardest in the World. 200km, 5000m+
Somewhere around 7-8 hours riding I guess.
GF Sportful Dolomiti race

Training is peaking nicely for the Marmotte, Etape and RideLondon.
Hoping that doing the easiest one last will stand me in good stead for a sub 5hr time for the RL.
Can recommend the Nevers Look sportive by the same organisers as the Marmotte. Beautiful region and great fun... And fast. Averaged 34kmh for 148 kms...
