Latest acquisition has been these...
26" x 2.00" Maxxis Beaver tyres. The old Kenda Nevegals were completely worn out, and picking up punctures like nobody's business.
Fitted the moment they arrived, they've been a revelation compared to the old rubber. Faultless performance is just ladling on the confidence which I'd lost with the old crappy tyres squirming around beneath me. I can now pick my line through squishy mud, and maintain traction longer up loose gravelly climbs. They're supposed to be a wet weather tyre, but they've proved to be effective in all conditions, and on mixed terrain types so far, and the only time they've let me down is a couple of tree roots on climbs, and I suspect there isn't another tyre grippy enough to have outperformed them on those roots, to be fair. Highly recommended so far, after 108 miles in the last 5 days.
How wide do they actually measure? I had some Maxxis high roller 2.1's and they measured more 1.95 so I got some 2.2's and they are more like 2.3 the Beavers have great reviews but I'd like to be sure I'm going to get what I expect size wise.26" x 2.00" Maxxis Beaver tyres. Stated width is 2.00"Actual...
...that's measured at the widest part, with 40 psi in them. Stated inflation range (on the sidewall) is "Min 35 - Max 65 psi"
The front tyre measured 1.945" across, so pretty consistent between the two, especially considering the oaf in whose hands the caliper was
I imagine that, at the minimum inflation level, and with a body on the saddle, it'd have a 2.00" 'footprint'. I'm much happier with them than I ever was with 2.1" Kenda Nevegals, as my bike isn't very generous between the chainstays.

Was scheduled to arrive this week in time for her birthday next week, emailed them several times this week to check and was told repeatedly that it would ship this week. 4:55pm on Friday they send me an email to say it would now ship the week of 10th November as they are busy. Well thanks a f&cking bunch.Matt_N said:
My freshly powder coated Oria steel Faggin winter steed, the blue has a silver flake in it too which pops nicely in the sun.
New BB, cranks, headset, shifters and long drop R650 brakes make it a nice ride.
