Saw the pink bike review of those.
At first glance they looked like a trickstuff rip off, but PB liked them.

Didn't realise you could get them in the UK.

What made you pick them?

Please share your thoughts once you've tested them.
Yeah a company called Submission Cycles are their UK distributor.

Been following them on Insta for a while and always thought they looked good and yes, they are just a Trickstuff rip off.

Read the Pinbike review, saw Paul Aston had bought a set then saw that the Intense team were running them and though F it.

I'll post my thoughts as soon as they're fitted, bed in and I've had a good few rides on them.

Update.

They're good, really good, they have the power of my Shigura's but with more modulation and that's after one ride, not bed in and on the standard pads. Out of the box they're impressive, not had that before from a brake, always needed the pads to bed in and/or a bleed.

I've read that the pads they come with aren't optimal so I'll be ordering some Galfer's for comparison and I think I can make the rear feel better with a bit of fettle.

My main worry about these will be longevity, they're Chinese and my experience with Chinese bike parts is that seals fail, they just can't seem to make them and they're a crucial part of a brake.... That said, I've had to replace a few leaky XT levers on my shigs ...

I've used chinese replacement master cylinders in metal to replace the plastic ones on my SRAM Guides to good effect.

The seal on the first one did tear, but that was more as a result of a freak landing-with-brakes-on event.

You can see the quality improvements between the first piston that I bought some years ago, and the latest one.

I would in general be happy buying chinese parts that aren't particularly complicated, but require a good amount of machining like brakes.

Thanks for the review. Interesting. Might have to give them a try at some point. My Son's bike has two pot shimano on them and I'm sick of bleeding the bloody things - flow down economics wink

I've worked in China and you can get amazing quality if you're prepared to pay for it. Taiwan the same.

I've got loads of KCNC stuff that I bought 20 years ago. It's beautifully machined stuff and light and strong. Every bit the equal of western kit.

Their chain splitter is a beast of a thing. It even impressed my late father who was an old school precision tool maker.

Another cheapy Amazon bike stand: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B075QJ2Z6C?psc=1&r...

Quite impressed with the one I got for my eMTB, can't argue for £20 and saves the unpleasant clashes with derailleurs that my floor-mounted one causes!

Also some tiny 550ml water bottles to fit the silly small space on the Megawatt! First proper outing on that bike tomorrow, can't wait!

KCNC seems like a proper blast from the past to me, used to see their parts all over the place, usually stems from memory...

I've always known Taiwan threw out quality kit but tended to be wary of anything from China assuming it was generally all 'buy cheap buy twice' grade stuff.

Obviously mistaken. Really quite taken with these brakes to the point that if I have another good month and I'm feeling spendy I might buy a set in silver for the hardtail.

It’s my old canyon hard tail being painted as homage to one of my favourite F1 cars, the FW14B.

This will just be my shop bike to get to the office so not doing any further upgrades to it other than what was already done.

I'd like one done in the Manthey 'Grello' colours of the old 911 GT3 RSR which won multiple N24s from 2006 - 2011.

Oooooh, hello.....

FB Marketplace ad popped up locally last night. Set of brand new Zipp 303s carbon rims, with 11 sp Ultegra cassette and Shimano discs at a lower price than the rims alone from bike-discount.de. The chap used them for 20km and decided he preferred his Roval rims instead. I snapped them up, but haven't told Mrs. RC...... paperbag

They're tubeless only. I have new, suitable tyres already. Just need the gunk and they're good to go. biggrin

These will replace the standard Fulcrum 818 alloys on my Bianchi Aria.

Recently got a new road bike, Giant TCR. £2700 RRP, reduced to £1890. Bought on the c2w scheme so will cost me around £1100 over the next 12 months. Pretty happy with it by all accounts. Pretty light and nimble, proper full 105 groupset (albeit older cranks).

I’ve bought a Garmin Varia RVR315 Rearview Radar and tried it out today on a 90km road ride on country lanes and NSL roads. Verdict? Fantastic bit of kit! Worth every penny!

NBD - New Bottles Day.

Spent a while trying to decide if I should add a splash of colour to my mainly grey and black bike, even to the point of photoshopping the various colours into the cages on a picture of my bike... then realised the black ones were £3.70 cheaper each than the colours, so stealth it is! smile
