The "what bike bits have you just bought" thread
Discussion
Not bought yet but a new set of brake pads to replace the brand new set that I wore out in a day on the Cheshire Cat Sportive!!!!
I also need a saddle bag after breaking the zip on mine today with it being covered it grit and crud. I had to transfer everything into my pockets to finish the ride.

I'm not sure you can buy a Canyon shipped to the UK and pay euros, this year they fixed the GBP prices whereas it used to fluctuate with exchange rates. Might be worth a call direct to Germany but I suspect they'd want you to order through the UK office.
I bought mine in EUR but had it shipped to France as I was visiting around their expected delivery time. I didn't think to ask if they'd ship it to the UK but another PHer mentioned he'd had some success doing that in the past. Definitely worth a question but if the answer's no then I'd say it's also worth combining it with a road trip/wine run.Gruffy said:

I was looking at Canyon bikes and thinking that they were very good value at the moment given the Euro to CHF exchange rate, but for some reason they didn't list Switzerland as a delivery option. It turns out there was a trademark dispute over the Canyon name a few years back so they are sold from a website called 'Pure Cycling' and branded simply as 'Ultimate' or 'AeroRoad'. Unfortunately the range is a lot more limited than buying from the UK or DE, but the prices are lower because we only pay 8% VAT here.

Signed up for my first sportive so:
- Saddle bag
- Rain jacket
- Chain quick link
- Self-adhesive tyre patches
- Tyre boots
- Anker portable battery charger to hopefully keep Strava running on my iPhone since it usually dies after a couple of hours
Already have inner tubes, water bottles, pump and multitool so should hopefully be ready to go.
