Top effort on the 300km! Have to say that 2500m climbing seems a bit low for that route, but I’m sure you’re glad it wasn’t more...
Anyway couple of pics from this morning - we got a strong wind blow in smoke from the major NSW fires which made for more-gentle riding - no need for big lungfuls - and for some interesting views...

Thanks, and yeah, the worst of the hills were at the beginning (Bristol/Bath), too. Once past Devizes, it was largely main roads across Salisbury plain (the first 120 km were almost entirely A roads). Plus the route went across the Somerset levels, only to take a former rail line through the Mendips. I really need to find out where the off piste stuff is at Cannock, a few bits are easy to find, cant miss them off the main trails but there's a hell of a lot more and I don't know where to start.

also volunteer Rangers being looked for to note where existing trails are with a view to closing them down so the world doesn't see riders moving around willy-nilly and injuring themselves off-piste...all to make the Chase look good/safe to the outside world
a lot of trails will be lost and areas for Cattle created, fine if you only want to Follow the Dog or Monkey Trail or stile Cop DH
Great 38 miles up on the Downs today albeit yet again it was really wet and slippy.
Had a puncture after 19 miles, to be fair the first this year!
Not much to see at Devil’s Dyke after 21 miles
And my new revised mudguards did their job and my back stayed quite clean......shame about the bike
I did buy some new Defroster Trail Mountain Bike Shoes this week having come home over the last few rides with very cold and very wet feet and today my feet came back dry and warm which was a welcome bonus
They won’t win any prizes for being stylish but they did the job!

Average speed - 12.2mph

Battery consumed - 84% (700wh battery)
