Had a works trip to the local clay pigeon shooting place. I rode over the Downs on my mtb, got some riding in. I was the last to arrive, was sorting out a change of clothes and shoes that a friend had brought in his car for me. The two instructors were chatting the usual anti cycle st, I wish I had thought of some of the brilliantly witty responses then that I have since 😳😒

Was one of the instructors a gobby scottish blonde girl by chance?

No, although she was there later. I quite enjoyed the shooting, but I can imagine some of the other people there being VERY typical off road driving cycle hating Nazis

Just outside of Crayke, North Yorkshire.
Ooh, I need to visit there - my surname is Craik! There’s also a Craik Forest is south Scotland that I would like to visit.

Crap photo but important to me - having been off the bike for just over three weeks, hand/wrist now feels strong enough for off road biking again...

Blustery loop around the Welsh borderlands to the west of Chester.

My favourite weir was pretty full of water... yikes

Ooof that does look a little full!

Went on a quick spin today and they already had people out in waders clearing the local river, rather them then me!

Summer appeared briefly this weekend, 180km / 3000m in 30C temps. No apologies for the gearing in this pic, it was halfway up one of the last main climbs but the view is one I haven’t stopped to appreciate before.

Skipped my usual Sunday morning ride to take my 3 year old to the skate park with his balance bike club:

I managed to get out for a short ride in the evening, but as the local trails are so wet it was just a hill repeats session. I got rained on, and I am sure there is a caption somewhere about hill repeats in the rain and rainbow stripes...

You might have to squint, but there is a barn owl flying up the track towards me. I must have looked very silly standing stock still in my high viz coat and helmet!

A few from Lanzarote a week ago. Nice hills and coastline but winds out of this world. First Sunday had Saharan sandstorm at its worst - horrible crosswinds, low visibility and every piece of exposed skin felt it was being sandblasted - I gather it made the news in UK so must have been extreme! We stayed near Teguise in the centre of the island which was a good compromise and being at 300m gave us a choice of ascending or descending to start each day.

New bike and first ride in a long time. Only a short ride of six miles. I need to find my padded shorts. My arse is killing me after that short ride!

Last bike was a road bike which I wasn't too keen on, but this is nice on the trailway I found smile.

My first time.

Really cool place although very wet at the moment. Quick run down Swoopy before we left it's way steeper that it looks.
