3c in the New Forest. Was up to 6 or 7 when I left home. Arm warmers, knee warmers, gillet and full length gloves.

Gorgeous day for a ride in. Almost no issues with kamikaze pedestrians and didn't even have to wait that long at Parliament Square for a change - result.

Got Brompton Envy from a chap on a CHPT3 edition on tanwall Kojaks - looked the business.

Yeh proper autumn morning today.

Low mist rolling across the fields, sun out and a bit chilly, 6c when I set off at 06:45.

Birmingham remains fairly temperate, still shorts and short sleeves, although with a baselayer. Drivers seem to be a bit more sedate than they used to be, or maybe I'm just getting used to local idiosyncrasies. Bike needs a drivetrain service and probably change to wet lube. Still on summer tyres though!

Having ridden to the train station, came back to find this:

The scrotes had trashed all the bikes in the racks. Fortunately my front wheel was spared, unlike many of the others.

I’m going to strip the back end down now, hopefully the frame isn’t damaged.

WTF is the point of doing that. There really are some fking morons about. Hope it all gets sorted.

Spent yesterday servicing my roadbike and rainyday commuter in preparation for the winter. The tyres on my roadbike are in a shocking condition, however the Rubino Pro have served me well over several thousand miles, as such I've ordered a new set -
£12.50 per tyre delivered seems a bargain.

Beautiful sunshine up here in Manchester this morning but rather cold, full finger gloves tomorrow if the weather stays the same.

I fking hate people. WTF is the point in that?

Dropped to 10 deg on my way in this morning. Slight change from the 30 I've become used to.

Cold this morning, my base layer wasn't even sweaty. I need to wrap up better.

Once - just once - I’d like to catch them at it.

Anyway, new back wheel ordered, I have a spare rear rack, the frame looks OK but I won’t know for sure til I have mounted the new wheel.

Just unbelievably mindless vandalism. People depend in their bikes round here and loads got trashed.

7deg, getting chillier.

Still in normal bibs, merino base and softshell, for now. Warmer hat rather than a cap.

Will be bringing some warmer stuff back to Bud when I go home this weekend.

And my road bike cloud9

I was on a rest day today, but I’ll be cracking out the commuter, with the Tannus tyres, for tomorrow’s commute. It’s no fun fixing punctures, in the dark, with cold hands.

Put my jacket on to cycle in this morning, only to find it was a hell of a lot warmer out than expected and most of the ride was in direct sunlight. hehe

‘Kin ‘ell that was a bit nippy this morning. It was actually still +3 degrees, but a bit of a shock to the system, after recent weeks, nonetheless. I got the first ‘stingy fingers’ since the heady days of storm Emma, way back at the beginning of the year.

Real mix of weather these last few weeks here in the SW.

The wind and rain has been, what seems like a constant for the last few weeks interspersed with some bloody cold days.

Last Friday for example was -2c and -6c with windchill, my face nearly froze as I didn’t wear a buff!

Then today 25mph gusts from the south on the way in and a torrential downpour all afternoon in which I got soaked and had a puncture!

Last day at work for the year on Thursday so a few more commutes to go.

This thread's gone a bit quiet, surely you haven't all packed up for the winter? biggrin

Surprised how much grip I had, didn't have a single slippy moment on about 2.5 km of path like that.

Still riding to work every day I’m in the office smile missed the snow this morning but had to navigate some slushy corners this evening in the way home. Mostly ok but some of the little humpback bridges over the small canals in delft can be sketchy!
