Just collected my new road bike.
2015 Specialized Tarmac U Di2 pro race
It had done under 400ks with the original owner and has just had a brand new warranty replacement frame. SWorks aero bars were also fitted at the same time and it hasn't been ridden since!
Will take it out for a spin tomorrow. Have just fitted some 6800 Ultegra pedals, adjusted the saddle and put it on charge
cant wait! Will also grab some pics in daylight tomorrow, and look at adjusting the bar height etc when I have a few k's on it.

This is my 2010 Cannondale Trail SL5 that I have just rebuilt as it was getting a bit battered and worn out. I had the frame powder coated in KTM orange. I put all new running gear (1x9) on it, XT mech, SLX shifter and a Superstar N/W chainring with Shimano BB and cranks. I rebuilt the forks and fitted SLX brakes and new tyres. It's been a bit of a learning curve but I've enjoyed the build and can't wait to get it filthy.
2015 YT Capra AL... With some little upgrades in the shape of Race Face SixC 35mm bars, Easton Haven 40mm stem, Absolute Black oval chainring, Race Face Aeffect saddle and most importantly a 2016 RockShox Lyrik fork.
All clean and ready for last week's adventure in Maderia! Rarely have I loved a bike this much.
And the general trail iron:
2015 Specialized Camber Evo 29er... But all that remains of the bike is the frame and shock. Upgraded with Rock Shox Pike forks, full XT group set and a few other goodies! I ride this bike a lot and absolutely love it - so much fun and perfect for mucking about in the woods!

Does the oval chainring make much of a difference at that size?

Thanks - after years of swapping bikes and never being totally happy I finally feel like I have the ultimate combo... For now anyway (N+1!)Does the oval chainring make much of a difference at that size?
Regarding the oval ring, I like it and have them on both bikes. They just smooth out your pedal stroke a bit and seem to spin along nicely. It's bit night and day, but it is noticeable. I've also discovered that I seem to struggle less on slippery climbs than others when on group rides (and I doubt it is my technique!)
The absolute black "black series" rings from CRC are beautifully machined, look great, wear well, are reasonably priced AND I've never dropped my chain once (including several weeks in the alps / descending actual mountains). What's not to like?!?

My EBay winter bike bargain, 2008 Spec Allez for £139.99.
It has only needed a good clean and check over on the work stand, did 35 miles on it yesterday, and all is sound.
Lack of mudguards = Epic 'winter bike' failIt has only needed a good clean and check over on the work stand, did 35 miles on it yesterday, and all is sound.
Result, all the same, especially if you are happy with it!

Shuttle Cock - I found it quite a harsh ride, improved a fair bit by a carbon seatpost.
This is mine, rebuilt around a 105 groupset:

Are the Lyriks a big upgrade then?
Very jhappy with the Codeine at the moment. Might swap to a flat bar if I can find a nice one t reasonable money, but otherwise it's fast, fun and I'm not scared of breaking it.

As for the ride quality, seems fine to me.

Thanks. Yeah, the Lyriks are really good. Pikes are already VERY good, and for only an extra 200g (so next to nothing) they are noticeably stiffer and more responsive. Once torque cap hubs become available on after market hubs they'll be even better! Are the Lyriks a big upgrade then?

Love the codeine, considered one myself a while back.
Just ordered a set of these, to counter the lack of eyelets on the forks, as I'm not really keen on the current solution of SKS raceblades.
I have a set of Giant guards from a defy, so will try to fit those.
