My new toy I picked up this week, having been messed around by a fraudster selling an Ibis Mojo (that's a whole different story).

Didn't know much about the Airdrop brand before a couple of weeks ago, but I like what they're doing and love this bike so far.
Very nice! What size and what mk is the frame? How is the canecreek?

Becoming more and more apparent I made the right choice, a day at Rogate and I didn't find myself "needing" more travel. If anything it's encouraging me to be smoother.
The new shock was the best change though, Fox DPS that it came with was simply terrible !
Didn’t know the bike park was open in the lockdown

Awesome colour! - Looks like the Cadbury purple.
Yep, she loves the colour and since this was built a friend has had his slate done the same colour.

I occasionally bump into Adrian... Keep meaning to suggest he foes a modern version of that. A long slack version would be awesome.

Happy Christmas! bounce

What a machine. The attention to detail on these is simply incredible. The frame is surprisingly light for ally too. It also has a very laterally stiff rear which as a heavier rider is perfect. Other bikes have felt flexy and vague in the corners before.

Believe all the hype on the Storia shocks. They offer an incredible ride quality - smooth yet supportive enough to pop off trail features.

My only gripe is the tyre and wheel choice stock from Mojo. It's simply too heavy and slow rolling for anything other than than an uplift day. On it's first run out yesterday I was pedalling a lot more on rolling trails than I would have normally. It felt like an ebike with a dead battery at times.

The wheelset is hope which weighs a simply ludicrous ~ 2.4kg coupled with a Schwalbe big Betty rear and Mary up front. The Betty is over kill for anything other than a full DH race on a very fast rocky or rooty track. I'm pretty sure they're wire beaded DH casings too. I can understand the choice given how capable the bike is but to spec for a very very unlikely situation for the majority of owners at the significant cost of general pedal-ability is an odd one.

Lighter wheelset in the new year it is then.

If you're a taller rider, go and test ride one of these. You won't be disappointed.
Looks great. I'd just swap tyres first? It's never going to be spritely on the flat.

New forks fitted with a bump to 160mm.

(uncut steerer in these pics, it's been cut and fitted properly since)
Nice choice. I've heard from a few journo types that they're really good

My new ride, Hope HB 160 mullet setup, will post more photos when I can figure out how to rotate them.

With gyms shut and running taking a toll on my ageing limbs (not to mention trainers - they wear out fast don't they?!) I thought I'd try and get out early doors each day for an hour on the bike as I'm WFH like so many of us.

My self-built frankenbike is fine for going to the shops with panniers but I thought I could do a little better if I'm doing regular jaunts for exercise' sake. And I'm not commuting into London so have a bit of extra dosh.

So I've just bought this from Facebook Marketplace for the price of a monthly train ticket:

Honestly it's like riding an e-bike compared to my other bikes! So smooth, and light (relatively) and everything works - nice shift, nice brakes, nice bars, etc. etc.

Well chuffed.

Mudguards are bike-specific but they are misaligned so clanked like hell on my first ride this morning - need fettling or removing. y frankenbike is a Giant too so they may fit there instead, which would be a bonus.

Bit of a Christmas retro resto project. 1992 Kona Cinder Cone - purchased as a frame set and swapped a slightly non-period STX RC groupset onto it which I think has turned out ok for a sub £150 build all in.

When I got it:

What it looks now after a bare metal strip down and respray:

The DPS is fine in fact its quite a good shock, sorry but you just didn't figure out how to get it working well.

That DPX (assuming thats a dpx) will be better for sure though.

Mine are absolutely nothing special, but here the are. Use them for camping, long and short bike rides, and normal transport.

Claude Butler Shamen. 6200km on her, up hills, down trails, and so on.

Kross Hex R4. Just under 1000km on her, took over from the Butler earlier this year.

Started 2020 with 2, starting 2021 with 5. Need to sell one to circumvent the wife’s ban on any more bikes. Really want something Enduro flavoured.

It's worth clicking back through vol 1. Amazing how much mtbs have changed over the period in which this thread was running.

No, it's a Float X. A massive improvement over the DPS, I beg to differ with regards to it, as do most people who have that particular shock model supplied on the t130rs.
