From my longer but easier route to work (avoiding the climbs of the Downs) yesterday. Thought the old railway line down by the river might be more water logged, but it was fine. The less used bridleways near the end which should have been ok had had some kind of JCB along them, managed to be wet and soggy and hard and bumpy all at once
Amazing what a nice sunrise can do for a place!
Every time I do this route I tell myself to start earlier- 55k in 2 hours means I have to push hard, and doesn't leave any contingency.
4 ladies going for a sea swim, nicking the mad dog prize from me
Arundel is quiet in the morning, way better than the A27

Ah, you're not far from me (I'm in Tangmere).
What's the route (and yes, Bognor looks much better in dawn's glow!)?
As a local boy born and bred, I'm not sure that's Bognor seafront in the picture. What's the route (and yes, Bognor looks much better in dawn's glow!)?

I’d say Worthing seafront.

Yup, Steyning, Lancing, Worthing, Rustington, Arundel Amberley Storrington. Some of it on National Cycle Route 2 - it's great it exists but you need the navigational skills of Marco Polo combined with the patience of a saint to actually follow it. Add that to 4 or 5 level crossings it makes it a challenge against the clock I grew up on Shoreham Beach, although now live in N Wales....

Not so much a photo from the ride, but got out yesterday for a quick 70mins to take my YTD distance over 25,000km.
I call a chunk of those Covid-KMs
I'm sure I don't need to tell you, but to put it into context that is an average of 2.5+ hours and 89km per day, every day for the year to date! A half decent effort that I call a chunk of those Covid-KMs
