Just unpacked this:

2018 model at an excellent price from Whyte bikes in Germany. Yes, cheaper to get it posted to Holland from Germany than to buy one in the UK (I'm in the UK a lot so click and collect was perfectly doable)
Still need to switch to tubeless and fine-tune suspension (and get the saddle height and position right, adjust the brake levers, tidy up the cables, bottle cage.......) and I'm sorry it's the non-drive-side and I suck at bicycle photography but I don't care![tongue out](/inc/images/tongue.gif)
It feels quite different to my 100mm travel 26" hardtail from 2001.

That was a pretty good turn around by Canyon then?
First impressions?
Yes Canyon were great.First impressions?
First impressions (coming from a 26" wheel full sus)
- 29" wheels roll noticeably faster smoother over tree roots, etc (previously I've been skeptical about the 29 wheel change)
- Power transfer from pedals is immediate making it very responsive to an increase of effort
- Ride was more comfortable than expected round my local woods. (apparently there's 15mm of rear vertical compliance)
- It climbs unbelievably well. (especially standing up)
Overall it's very fast, however what I wasn't fully expecting is that I already feel a little more confident on it than my full sus, maybe due to the bigger wheels. I'll take it somewhere more challenging (Cannock) in a few weeks to see if it's the same there.

Arr Cannock - thats one of my favorites, have not been for a few months. I know I probably say it every year but if ever any midland(ish) PH'ers fancied doing a ride - drop me a line.
