RTFT.
Strava was solved years ago. Around post 4 page 1 from memory.
As for facebook I have no idea the reasons for the issue. Please show me your apparent solution or contact details for Facebook that would be used when the password reset pages only ever end in 'error please try later'.
P.S. there aren't any.

Do you keep the Garmin files after uploading them or do they just get deleted from the device?
Part of the joy of having a device not supported by Strava or capable of automatic uploads is that I have a folder on my PC with all my rides in it. For your mileage it would be about 20mb.
I've also always been a bit wary that Strava might turn to 5heet or that something better might come along so keep them just in case.
Now you're back in can you get your data back off Strava if a similar situation happens in future?

I did RTFT, I was pointing out that if you'd spent five minutes on Google you could have avoided the two hours of panicking and worrying that you might lose all your data, and you wouldn't have needed the FT in the first place. Why would Strava suddenly destroy your profile just because you can't log into it?Strava was solved years ago. Around post 4 page 1 from memory.

As for Facebook password reset, the behaviour you're experiencing sounds more like malware on your local machine to me. Have you tried doing a reset on someone else's laptop, or even from the mobile browser on your own phone? If your account remains logged in on your phone, the password can't have been changed - there's a periodic check for this, and the app will sign you out if it detects the password to have changed.
Re the Strava issue - yes I had moment of panic hence why I posted about it. I did manage to resolve it thankfully very quickly - so I appreciate the advice given. I posted about it quickly as I actually care about my riding and history, as I am sure we all do. So fair enough re your comments, but I did post up early on that I had resolved Strava.
Facebook has been a different issue. I recovered my account yesterday from a totally different computer and location to my home one. My attempts to recover my account at home had frozen my recovery efforts. The link to the help page above is part of the circle of nonsense I was trying to use that wasn't working. Every time I followed the procedure it led me to "error" or "please try later" pages. And that was over a period of 3 days.
No idea what happened or why. But, Strava account thankfully secured.
I am sure as seasoned cyclists who care about our efforts, we can all relate to the possibilty of not only being unable to upload rides but also losing a vast amount of historic data. I have some great achievements recorded on there over the the years and personally I would be gutted to lose it all.
