It doesn't sound quite as bad as initially seemed when they were taking down their stand at Sea Otter - it is just a restructuring and the brand up for sale.

Mercian has gone bust.

A real shame - they made some lovely frames - lugtastic.

Oh Kona's founders have brought the brand back too, not sure what that actually means, but at least its not dead.

Always love a kona (think I’m on to number 4 with my honzo esd) but do think they have become a bit lost in their ways with not really any real innovation- think their process 111 was probably one of the last that was a game changer of the first down country bike. Think they are just a bit old skool brand with not much current to attract younger customers.
