the crosstrail is a good option as it gives you the choice to take the bike on some light off road. alot of commuters at £350 are purley designed for road stuff.

I bought the Crosstrail sport version a few weeks back on the cylce2work scheme, very happy with it so far, nice and nimble yet feels strong enough to take abuse, light enough front forks too and runs on 700c x 45 so good compromise between mtb style and roadies... very discreet too so not instantly attractive to thieves!
